REAL TALK. You cannot understand Palestinians without understanding their society glorifies the slaughter of Jews.

A lot of well-meaning Democrats have convinced themselves that Palestinians are analogous to Black people in the 1964 civil rights movement. They are not. Hamas and the eliminationist movements around it have far more in common with the KKK - they want the land cleansed of Jews.

And this isn’t some abstract accusation. Poll after poll has shown horrifying levels of support for October 7 and violence against Israelis.

This is an intensely patriarchal society with honor killings for women who are raped. Where women are forced into marriages they did not choose. Where gay people are publicly executed. Where voters put Islamic extremists in power, and those extremists then built a radical, violent theocracy that kills it own citizens in the streets. 

This is a society where antisemitism isn’t a fringe idea. You can turn on television and hear Palestinian women rationalizing the kidnapping and sexual enslavement of Jewish women through Islamic law.

And believe me, as someone who was extremely vocal about #MeToo, Black Lives Matter and basically every social justice cause of the last 20 years, saying this makes me CRAZY uncomfortable.

But liberalism cannot mean pretending illiberal cultures don’t exist. Westerners need to stop projecting their own values onto this society that does not share them.

Israelis aren’t crazy for being afraid of the people next door, and it’s deeply immoral to condemn them for defending themselves from the theocratic freaks trying to rape, maim and slaughter them. October 7 showed exactly what happens when genocidal extremists get through the fence.

If you actually care about peace, Palestinian society has to be deradicalized. And I honestly have no idea how you do that.

Das glaube ich in seinem Fall gerne. Also nochmal, ganz einfach: Wenn wir die Rolle in der Reproduktion zum Kriterium machen - dann sind es zwei. Andere Kriterien zugrunde gelegt: mehr. Und dieses zweite Vorgehen kann analytisch seine Berechtigung haben. War das jetzt so schwer?
