@aravind Odd. After he became chairman, RJ was hung-ho that he would focus on return on capital which the group lacked before. And from all intents and purposes it seems that he did just that - atleast in the first half of his tenure. Don’t understand where your statements are coming from
@kaul_vivek@SandeepParekh Foreign investor sells. Indian investor takes money out of bank and buys. Foreign investor takes his money and repatriates. If money outflow from the country greater than money inflow then total money in domestic banking system is lower.
@SandeepParekh If the money leaving the country (I.e. FPI/FII/FDI selling) is not offset by other capital or trade inflows then there is a net decrease in total money in the banking system
@VishalBhargava5 The ability to walk around your neighbourhood and have things to do. Probably the only neighbourhood in all of Mumbai (with Kala Ghoda maybe seeing a renaissance).
@jcrajan00@jaganmsna@Kachnarr I was under the impression that ethanol production was moving away from sugarcane to other feedstock being more profitable.
@akhileshnpathak I don’t have concerns. I’m just pointing out that for the last 5 years this strategy didn’t work. Now if you are saying that the stocks chosen were incorrect then perhaps it is the gentleman’s stock picking skills rather than this strategy that works.
@akhileshnpathak Back-tested this for the last 5 years using Coromandel/Chambal and Voltas/Blue Star. Doesn’t work. Couldn’t beat the index even assuming no capital gains tax.
@JoshiEien 1. Why so positive on sulphuric acid producers when feedstock (sulphur) are going up as well?
2. Thoughts on OCCL (sulphur prices have gone up) but Flexsys has taken price hikes. plus ADD has been imposed. Will OCCL be able to rise to previous glory?
3. Thoughts on Transpek Ltd?
@SridharanAnand@abhishec_s Any thoughts on how this is playing out in another FMCG area recently? The Big
Dog has decided to go for mkt share by lower prices. This is only one of their many segments. But their South-based competitor is complaining about brand dilution. A once healthy, steady biz hurting.
