@BoxFreeThinker@NSKinsella I know it happens, because I was in prison in Texas, and it happened to me.
You are forced to work. If you refuse, you will lose commissary/visitation/rec/tablet privileges, be denied parole, and eventually be put in solitary confinement. And in Texas, no inmate is paid a dime.
@uther_bendragon@tracewoodgrains That's not what mass incarceration means. You don't get to redefine terms to be whatever you want them to be. Google is free.
Sorry, you're just not intelligent enough to waste any more time on. Sorry to have to be the one to break it to you.
@BoxFreeThinker@NSKinsella Because forced labor, for little or no pay (in some states) is common in prisons. Often, only medical conditions or some other reason can get you out of it.
@uther_bendragon@tracewoodgrains "uhhhh but we don't do that"
How would you feel if you didn't have breakfast yesterday? You literally just did the meme. But I'm sure you can't recognize it.
@uther_bendragon@tracewoodgrains Under your theory, if the government made "being male" a crime, and then locked up every male, it wouldn't be "mass incarceration". Which is obviously ridiculous.
@lovabler0gue@tracewoodgrains The right wing position thinks prisons deter crime, when in reality the evidence shows they don't deter crime, but instead create it
@tonyapc42@nobody_@tracewoodgrains 100% false, and it betrays your ignorance of the subject.
For example, despite no criminal history, I got a 7 year sentence in Texas for a victimless nonviolent crime.
@kash_phat@The_PFBC@dukakis88 Having been to prison myself, I'll agree that being executed for most petty crimes would be worse (though I'd rather be whipped than go back to prison), but there's also a secret third option: make prisons better, while using prisons only for the worst violent offenders
@jessesingal Alec has felt this way for a long time. His belief was not affected by the news of Ezra attending a conference, so I don't think it's fair for you to insinuate that.
@StephenFPI@apendygraft@RealManSports But if time is added for "wasting time restarting play", then why does every single team still do it when leading? Seems like they sure think it helps waste time...
@kash_phat@The_PFBC@dukakis88 Putting people in prison has been shown to increase the likelihood of them committing future crimes, so your solution isn't really working all that great either?
@thehandsomezach It's not that big of a difference.
Both have a 23.5 PER in the regular season. Harden drops to 21.4 PER in the playoffs, Wade drops to 22.4 PER in the playoffs.
Other advanced stats say they're almost identical both in the playoffs, and in the regular season.
