And again, comparing pre-1948 to today makes no sense - they're completely different situations, with different people, drivers etc.

Jews bought land from absentee landowners, and built settlements for waves of Jews fleeing persecution in Europe and Russia. If you're saying that migration+ land purchases = "taking" what's legitimate?

As to your claim, 'most' of the land was government land (and desert to boot) claimed by the Israeli government post-war. The rest, Arabs who abandoned their homes during the war.

Zionist migration was not caused by Narodnaya Volya (which was Jewish, it had Jewish members - another generalisation). The trigger was the wave of pogroms across the Russian Empire in 1881 and systematic discrimination that followed.

@Syndicatrix @emilykschrader There has been a constant Jewish presence in the lands now called Israel for ~3,000 years. Even after the wars against Rome, Jews lived in the Galilee. Some communities (in Safed, Hebron, Jerusalem, Tiberias etc.) have been there continuously for 2000+ years.

You reject generalisations about Islam and Christianity , but consistently use them when discussing Jews, Israel and Zionism.
That's inconsistent, either broad civilisational generalisations are valid across the board, or they're not.
