At just 3 years old, Chase has already experienced more hardship than any dog should ever have to endure. When he arrived into our care through the stray system, he was in a heart-breaking condition. His skin was painfully inflamed, sore, and clearly causing him discomfort. It was evident that this lovely boy had not received the care and attention he deserved.
Since arriving with us, Chase has been receiving veterinary treatment and plenty of TLC. With regular medicated baths, a consistent routine, and lots of love, his skin is already beginning to heal and he’s making fantastic progress every day. Despite everything he’s been through, Chase hasn’t lost his faith in people. He is an incredibly affectionate, gentle boy who simply wants to be loved. He greets everyone with a wagging tail and a kind heart, always eager to make friends and be part of the action.
Chase has been friendly with the dogs he has met so far and could happily live with another canine companion. Equally, he would thrive as the only dog in the home where he can enjoy being the centre of attention and soak up all the love for himself. He would be best suited to a home with older children who can understand and respect his boundaries while he continues to grow in confidence. Chase already knows his basic commands and is highly food motivated, making him a pleasure to work with and continue training.
All Chase is asking for is what every dog deserves — a safe home, a comfy bed, and a family who will love him for the rest of his life. After such a difficult start, we’d love nothing more than to see this special boy finally get the happy ending he’s waited so patiently for.
All 8 Below dogs are neutered (if of an appropriate age) microchipped, up to date with parasite treatment, have lifetime support and backup and 5 weeks free insurance plus a lovely 8B collar and lead.

Chase, rescued from a British Council pound after horrible neglect. Please share to find him the loving forever home he deserves 🐶❤️
A holidaymaker has been accused of grabbing a seagull out of the air then punching it to death after it snatched his pasty.
Outraged locals posted pictures of the man claiming he killed the innocent seagull in St Ives, Cornwall yesterday in revenge for trying to steal his savoury treat, as police urged anybody with CCTV footage to come forward.
Rosie Reynolds was working at a boat tour stall when the man attacked the bird right in front of her.
She said: 'He was walking with his wife and child and the gull just swooped down and stole his pasty.
'He just grabbed it and had its head in his hand and punched it hard in the chest. It was sort of held in his arm so it couldn't escape.
'After three or four punches the bird went limp then he threw it to the ground where it just lay there, it was still alive but its chest cavity was caved in and I think it just went off to die.
'I went over and berated him as did some other people, I said "you can't do that, its illegal" and his wife said the same, I think she was shocked, I asked if he'd do the same to a child who stole an ice cream but he just called me a cow and told me to f*** off.
I'm just so shocked, tourists sometimes kick out at the seagulls but this is the worst I've ever seen.
'I recognised his picture straight away on Facebook, I know several people have reported him to police and I hope they can deal with him properly.'
A takeaway owner who didn’t want to be named served the man just before he attacked the gull said it actually snatched a fish burger.
He said: 'I just remember the guy was really rude, his wife seemed lovely but he was just demanding and said he needed to drive back to Yorkshire as soon as he could.'
Another witness Pauly Ford posted on Facebook: 'Just witnessed a 'man' grab a seagull that had knocked the pasty out of his hand and punched the bird twice really, really hard. This was at the harbour.
'The bird wasn't able to fly away and a lady at the sea island boat trips picked it up to look after, sadly the bird had a big hole in its chest so will likely not survive.
'Not sure what to do about this, we have a picture of the guy after killing a seagull because he's an idiot is there anything we can do. Surely the police will want to know.'
Thank you. Since last week, over 7,500 of you have signed my letter to protect Exmoor ponies. Because of that pressure, I have good news.
I wrote to Natural England and asked them straight. They have now confirmed, in writing, that there are no current plans to change grazing on Exmoor, and they recognise the Exmoor pony as a rare breed and a vital conservation grazer. Exmoor National Park has said the same.
This isn't the end. I have outstanding freedom of information requests from Defra and the Rural Payments Agency, who run the funding schemes, to make sure those reassurances hold for the long term.
There is something lasting you can do TODAY! Exmoor Ponies came back from just 50 animals after the Second World War, and the breed's gene pool is still fragile. The Exmoor Pony Society is building a gene bank so we never come that close to losing them again.
Donate and help secure the future of the breed.

Horrific cruelty found on mostly Chinese squid boats by four-year investigation.
Dolphins used as live bait, some had their teeth pulled out first.
60% of Chinese vessels routinely slashed sharks' fins off, leaving them to slowly die.
Endangered whale sharks, manta rays, turtles, seals and penguins were also consistently reported as being captured and killed.

This is the full investigation report on human and animal abuse on squid fishing boats—it's quite a shocking read, but has well-researched recommendations for change.
If you eat squid, you need to be aware of what you're supporting.

Bulls are violently stabbed to death in the bullring. These gruesome killings are often held in honour of Catholic saints or during holy Christian celebrations. Urge Pope Leo XIV to stand against this abuse! #TortureNotTradition https://t.co/4sDnqbvOWb
300 trees in ancient woodland felled before planning permission was granted, the only word for it is crime. But the developers will apologise, pay a meagre fine and continue on their way.

What is the world coming to 😡 Youths armed with catapults and metal ball bearings have killed three wild birds along a canal in Kidderminster town centre.
Members of the public spotted the group targeting the animals along the water on Thursday, June 4.
Police rushed to the town centre canal after receiving the reports from witnesses.
And officers discovered that two ducks and a goose had been killed 💔
Three youths were stopped and searched by teams at the scene.
They were found in possession of catapults and metal ball bearings.
Those weapons and ammunition were immediately seized by officers.
An active police investigation has now been launched under the Wildlife and Countryside Act of 1981.
A building in Dorking, Surrey, has been demolished, and with it, what may have been the largest known Swift colony in the area. Between 17 and 22 active nests were destroyed during the destruction of Regent House.
Utterly disgusted to see Croudace Homes wilfully clearing mature trees and hedgerows in Shenfield during the height of the breeding season. Century old oaks hosting nesting birds and other wildlife have been felled. We need to place more value on our natural environment.
We have a grass bund behind our village in south St Albans full of nesting Skylarks and Swifts and Swallows are visiting it..@SEGROplc want to remove half of it for an access road for their giant warehouse park..we’ve had construction machinery adjacent to the bund and last Friday a giant grass cutter was on top of it ..we called the wildlife police who spoke to their ecologist and were satisfied no crime had been committed!! 😡…the Skylarks went silent for 2 days, clearly disturbed..we’re so angry as despite all the legal protections developers can get away with this with a minimal fine

What the bloody hell is wrong with people? 😡
'No signs of life' in River Lugg after John Price destruction
An ECOLOGIST has warned that it could take up to 30 years for a river that has no "signs of life" to recover after it was "obliterated" by a local farmer.
Although then and now photos show that the landscape around the River Lugg near Kingsland has been drastically transformed, an ecologist has warned it could take decades to fully recover after farmer John Price used an 18-tonne digger to dredge a section.
Price also stripped a mile-long stretch of the bank of trees back in 2020.
He was jailed for 12 months in 2023 by a judge who told him he had committed "ecological vandalism on an industrial scale" along a section of one of Britain's most important salmon rivers.
He had claimed he had carried out the work to help protect locals in the nearby hamlet whose homes were devastated by flooding and to help fix riverbed erosion.
But the Environment Agency said the damage was one of the worst cases of riverside destruction it had ever seen, leading to a "devastating" effect on local wildlife - which has still not recovered six years on.
Although trees, bushes, and greenery are growing back around the river, a leading ecologist believes there are "no signs of life" in the river itself.
Environmental designer Richard Fishbourne said: "It is quite disturbing to see how much damage one person can cause in just a couple of days.
"When I went down recently there was no sign of any fish where you would usually expect to see minnows, graylings, trout and salmon.
"There's just no sign of life - there's nothing in the water here now and it has become an impoverished landscape.
"It can take decades to build up this wonderful community of species and habitat but it can all be destroyed in a moment of insanity."
