@Poppi62 For the dendrites you are right, Para sits in a more traditional AIS-like region. The chordotonal neurons also have this Para localization in addition to the dendritic localization.

@casa_tuthill @DrK_Wilkinson @doctheagrif We never looked, we only looked at the JO chordotonals, if the prep isn't hard should be easy enough to have a quick look. I'm sure Janelia has the right GAL4 lines somewhere....

@DrK_Wilkinson @doctheagrif This is cool! Is it possible to separate the role Nav1.1 has in the receptor potentials vs its role in axons? Perhaps its the same function.... in flies with one gene it proved very challenging to try separate these roles

A couple weeks late but I'm excited to share that I'm a postdoc associate now! Still loyal to the fruit fly, I'll be working at the @HHMIJanelia campus in Virginia with Gerry Rubin. I'm grateful for this oppurtunity to work in such an awesome environment.
