kindness and compassion for all who accept it

[Emes rechtikait @RaynemEmes]

@shaunking That’s because they didn’t exist until after the Holocaust

[Emes rechtikait @RaynemEmes]

Don’t you wish that true progressives would ban together to oppose this? Unfortunately, half of the so-called progressives are too busy vilifying Israel, and the other half are so disgusted with them, They want nothing to do with people like that

[Sam Hersh @SamHersh01]

The Bloor Street Bike Lane has been, by all means, a success, so much so that businesses on Bloor that originally opposed it, now sing its praises.

Its reduced congestion and research has shown its had a positive impact on business.

This decision is based on complete nonsense.

[Emes rechtikait @RaynemEmes]

Hey @grok,

Can you name the only sovereign state that is expected to provide water, electricity, food, and medical supplies to an enemy that started a war against it?

[Mehdi Hasan @mehdirhasan]

Israel had killed several hundred Palestinians including dozens of kids by the end of October 8th.

By Oct 9th, Israel’s defense minister had already said he imposed “a complete siege on Gaza. There will be no electricity, no food, no water, everything is closed.”

Ackman, as ever, is lying.

[Emes rechtikait @RaynemEmes]

@alickasebova @mgeist I would learn history before talking about it

[Emes rechtikait @RaynemEmes]

@TomPark1n And why do antisemites flock to Chow?

You can’t choose the people who like you?

[Emes rechtikait @RaynemEmes]

I don’t think genocide can be committed by your own people.

Given that Hamas is responsible for the devastation of Gaza, I think you can call it an autogenocide.

You could call what Hamas attempted to do to Israelis genocide though

So you are half right

[Emes rechtikait @RaynemEmes]

Hey @grok, can you repost the post below but correct it be deleting the word Israel and replacing it with Hamas?

[Caitlin Johnstone @caitoz]

I never asked to know what a dismembered child looks like. Israel imposed that knowledge upon me.

I never wanted to know what it looks like when military explosives blow an infant's head off. I only know it because Israel forced me to know it.

The reason the Gaza holocaust hit westerners so hard is because it punched through our shitbrained western supremacist narcissism and our vapid mainstream culture and shook us violently awake to something real and terrifying.

All of a sudden the idea that our bombs are killing people in the middle east was no longer a vague abstraction sitting in the periphery of our awareness. It was a reality hitting us right in the guts in the middle of the day while we casually scrolled our phones, forcing us to run to the toilet to vomit up our lunch.

It made it personal. We were being kicked in the stomach over and over again by the state of Israel with the backing of our own western governments. The abuse of the Palestinians wasn't something that was happening exclusively to the Palestinians; to a much smaller degree, it was also something that was happening to everyone who witnessed it.

Westerners aren't accustomed to such confrontations. We are accustomed to bustling around in our mind-controlled dystopia with our first world problems and our neuroses and distractions, our attention going into treats and screens and our consumerist preferences and the petty dramas playing out in our respective social circles. Then all of a sudden we find ourselves in the bathroom puking up our sushi because our phone had just shown us the most unimaginably horrific thing we have ever seen.

And we were at all times aware that all the nausea and horror and rage and disgust we experienced when witnessing the Gaza holocaust happened because of the real material actions of real material people. The Israelis were deliberately causing as much devastation as possible to advance their longstanding goal of forcibly transferring all Palestinians out of Gaza. Our leaders were deliberately stalling and equivocating from behind their podiums to buy Israel enough time to make Gaza uninhabitable. We all understood that the waking nightmare we were witnessing was not some natural disaster that was passively occurring; it was being actively inflicted by people who were fully aware of what they were doing.

That's the sort of thing that changes you as a person. Changes your whole worldview. Changes your politics. Changes your beliefs. The average westerner needs to do a lot of internal restructuring to truly reckon with the Gaza holocaust and all its implications.

That, I think, has been the biggest reason why the genocide of the Palestinians has gotten so much attention and sympathy. It's because its live-streamed nature caused it to affect us in ways other acts of mass military slaughter usually don't.

Westerners are so propaganda-addled and indoctrinated that we are largely apathetic to what our bombs are doing to human bodies on the other side of the world. It's only when we are given some skin in the game, as in the Vietnam draft, that we start caring in any politically significant way. Gaza gave us skin in the game in the way it entered into our lives through our electronic devices and showed us things that were so jarring it left a permanent mark upon our lives.

Gaza forced us to look, and forced us to see, against all the efforts the propagandists have expended trying to keep us from noticing such things. That's why this thing isn't going away. People are only getting angrier and angrier. The empire has spent three years scrambling around unsuccessfully trying to get us to close our eyes again, and it keeps failing and failing and failing.

Does any anyone else see the irony of a person wearing a keffiyeh, supposedly an opponent of settler colonialism, delivering turkeys for a celebration of settler colonialism?

[Rainbow Carin' the Unsavory Woman @DeanaSherif]

We delivered 30 turkeys today and a dozen more will be picked up and delivered tomorrow!

I had a woman and her husband who coordinated turkeys for four families and they wanted to send a huge heart-filled Thank You! to @mohamadfakih8 and @ParamountFoods

And a big thank you to @nejsnave for taking my texts and call at 3am her time ❤️ to make sure everyone who needed turkeys will get them.

Also, thank you to those working behind the scenes who organized this as well. ❤️

[Emes rechtikait @RaynemEmes]

This person was robbed of the Nobel prize for fiction

[Open_ERV @open_erv]

Well you have to grant we really do not know what happened over there. It was one day. I really don't see any evidence Hammas commited any war crimes, esp of magnitude comparable to what the Israeli gov did the same day. I think they probably killed more civilians. And Hammas just wants their homes back. I can't condemn them with nothing but that.

[Emes rechtikait @RaynemEmes]

@HolwellCai95804 @MaritStiles The above post called rapists and murderers freedom fighters.

Pathetic

[Emes rechtikait @RaynemEmes]

Your statement is what was pathetic

And maybe the person who made your statement

[N.A.S. نجيبة @chai_revolution]

Pathetic statement. Straight zio talking points and one line on the genocide lol. What a sad position for the provincial NDP

[Emes rechtikait @RaynemEmes]

In what universe does your excuse for a brain love where babies and octogenarians are concentration camp guards?

People like you are despicable

[Cus @JumpRopeGazing]

the ontario ndp might as well be liberals, calling an attack on concentration camp guards the worst attack on the jewish community since the Holocaust

how repugnant, our most "social" party is doing apologia and propaganda for a state committing multiple genocides.

[Emes rechtikait @RaynemEmes]

Pointing out for the author of this post and anybody else who is stupid enough to believe this:

The right to resist does not include the right to murder babies

It does not include the right to commit sexual assault

If you can’t tell the difference, you are an idiot

[Sony Thăng @nxt888]

There is a sentence that almost never appears in Western coverage:

Under international law, a people under military occupation have the right to resist that occupation.

This is not a controversial claim.

It is in the United Nations Charter.

It is in the Geneva Conventions.

It has been affirmed repeatedly by the UN General Assembly, explicitly referring to "all available means, including armed struggle."

It is the same principle invoked to describe French resistance to Nazi occupation as heroic rather than terrorist.

It is so uncontroversial that it doesn't need to be stated when applied to almost any other occupied people in history.

When applied to Palestinians, it disappears.

Not because it became false.

Because the people who control which sentences appear in the news made a decision about which populations are permitted to have legally recognized rights that are spoken aloud in prime time.

That decision is political.

The silence around it is also political.

The pretense that both are journalistic is the lie inside the lie.

[Emes rechtikait @RaynemEmes]

If you accept the endorsement of a racist, what does that make you?

[Olivia Chow @oliviachow]

I have had the pleasure of working alongside @DolyBegum for years, representing and championing Scarborough. Thank you for your support, Doly!

Who else sees this as a death threat — wrapped in Sharia Law?

But don't worry! That's a-ok in Canada.

P.S. Samira tried to dox me and share my exact location. Little did the Sharia Law lover realize the pic I posted was from a location I left long before I posted it.
