رحم الله الف��ان المصري الكبير حلمي التوني، أحد أهم الفنانين الذين اهتموا بإبراز التراث الشعبي العربي في أعمالهم، وكانت له بصمة مميزة، ميزت أعماله بألوانها المبهجة والثيمات الشعبية العربية مثل الحصان والنخل والأغاني القديمة، حيث كان يعتبر نفسه مغنيا للوحات وليس مجرد رسام، كما اهتم برسم المرأة العربية وإبراز جمالها وقضاياها وانشغالاتها، رسم للأطفال والكبار وقدم معارض فنية متعددة في العديد من دول العالم، حصل على عدة جوائز دولية منها جائزة اليونيسيف عن ملصق للعام الدولي للطفل عام 1979، وجائزة معرض بيروت الدولي للكتاب لمدة ثلاث سنوات متتالية، وجائزة معرض (بولونيا لكتاب الطفل) عام 2002، وفاز بميدالية معرض (ليبرج الدولي لفن الكتاب) الذي يقام مرة كل ستة سنوات.
خالص العزاء لعائلته وتلاميذه ومحبيه. وإنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون.
