Like Katy, I’m a survivor of sexual violence. As a lawyer, and in my capacity as an MLA I worked on a lot of sexual violence cases, and read many distressing reports, this one in particular.

Like her, I was angry.

But anger doesn’t excuse what is clearly a racial, white nationalist response. Her culture/religion/race isn’t better than anyone else’s. No ones is superior.

In addition she called Mayor Mamdani a “jihad loving mayor” cheered to “defend white western civilization”, “Islam is a rape culture”.

Islam is a religion practiced by billions of people all over the world, the vast majority of them peaceful.

But the peroxide blonde archetype that’s very proud of their distant British heritage and can’t wait to shit on other cultures is a very common archetype in conservative circles right now.

And it’s not the kind of people we want running the premier’s office in this province built on diversity.

When the BC Conservatives tell you who they are, believe them.

But two days later you reposted someone saying "Islam is a literal rape culture" and just last month you reposted "New Yorkers got a jihad-loving mayor."

@brodieguy @iamrobinskies Where? The thing is people don’t understand marginal tax rates and at most tax brackets BC would still be one of the lowest taxes in Canada.

@shawnmyr @mattjdh Because it’s marginal tax rates so it isn’t as simple as just %. You need to look at the tax brackets. For example in Manitoba they start taxing 17.4% at 100,000 but in BC it’s only about 10.5% at that bracket and then gradually goes up in diff brackets. Redo the math please
