Back home in Adelaide, we asked Socceroo Awer Mabil, one of the squad’s many refugee success stories, about suggestions Australia is a monocultural society, rather than a multicultural one.

He asked if could swear, before declaring “It’s all bullshit.”

“Australia is the best country in the world and the Socceroos are the best representation of that.
If anyone’s trying to divide that, they’re probably not Australians themselves, in a sense.

You don’t pick where you’re born, you don’t pick the colour of your skin. You choose to be a good human being. Some people, they choose against being good. That’s their own problem. Then they’re missing out on what others can bring. That’s what multiculturalism does. It brings other flavours to the table, instead of just one thing.

It’s many journeys, with one jersey.”

I recently revisited this post from @AlboMP. Why so many negative comments? 1st time, a high profile politician, & that too a male PM, acknowledges how women have been dismissed & treated badly by the medical community. And he's doing something about it. That's highly commendable

@bhanlon15 The best treatment for Dysautonomia is available in the US. There are dedicated hospitals & research centres. Europe & Australia are quite behind. Drs in the US are more open to allowing patients to get regular saline infusions. In Australia, Drs would rather let women suffer.

My darling sister Sepideh Kashani has been arrested in Iran, alongside her husband Houman Jokar and sister Sima Kashani. All three have disappeared into the regime's detention enterprise- we don't know who arrested them, where they are being held or why.
Sepideh and Houman are wildlife conservationists. They have already lost more than 6 years of their lives to Evin prison. They are not political. They have already sacrificed so much and their rearrest is devastating.
Sima Kashani suffers from multiple sclerosis and needs urgent medical care. Sepideh and Sima's father has a number of severe health conditions and was recently released from hospital. He needs his daughters at home to care for him.
These are some of the most remarkable, courageous and kindest people in Iran. Sepideh, Houman and Sima are not just another awful statistic in the Islamic Republic's war on its own people.

@7NewsBrisbane 🙏 Really hope the new drug makes Motor Neuron Disease MND manageable. I hope the researchers find something for other debilitating neurological illnesses like Dysautonomia & POTS. Most of the research & clinical trials are in the US. It's not that well known here in Australia 😥

@TomKindlon To be honest, it sounds kind of ableist. Aren't they supposed to treat patients equally? On a lighter note, if they're gonna log heart rates as well, ME / CFS people who also have Dysautonomia and POTS will win even without walking 😂
