Some owners will drop out and rates will normalize marginally lower than before, it won't be the stuff of movies.

Being very political is a life-crippling failure mode for a lot of people. It makes them OK with doing nothing.

They have infinite excuse that not all their ideals are enacted, and only if they were, then they would flourish, etc. This is never stated but v apparent in practice.
