@LewisHowes I’ve learned this one the hard way. Spend less energy proving your value and more energy becoming more valuable. The right people will see it and they won’t need convinced
Building a new team will test your patience.
Tuesday was a tough day for our new guys in Indy.
Today they came back, kept knocking and put sales on the board.
That’s what I’m looking for.
Not perfection.
Coachability. Consistency. Resilience.
I’m also bringing another young guy on next week who I believe has the potential to develop into a sales manager.
The goal isn’t just to build a successful branch.
It’s to build people who can eventually lead it without me.
That’s the part I enjoy most.
Turned a lot of our new reps loose on their own today.
10 sales in Indianapolis. 🔥
That’s the part of building a team I love.
You train. You coach. You correct. You encourage.
Then eventually you have to step back and let people go do it.
Seeing new guys start to figure it out for themselves is better than getting the sales myself.
Great Monday. Momentum is building.
Been a full week.
Had our Ohio team here in Indy helping train our new guys and we put up 125+ new customers!
Today was a different kind of day.
Helped run varsity 🏀 open gym this morning, took Kanaan to get his new suit altered, and now we’re getting some chipping and putting in together.
Kate had a great week on the volleyball court too.
I love building businesses. I love winning. But getting to be present for my kids while I do it means more to me than any number on a sales board.
Really thankful for this season of life.
It’s all good. 🙏
@VivekGRamaswamy What an important reminder…disagreement should never become hatred, and words should never be answered with violence. Praying God gives Charlie’s family strength, comfort and peace. His life and influence will not be forgotten. 🙏
@TimTebow This is so important. Sometimes we’re not looking for God’s direction we’re looking for His approval of the direction we already chose. His Word should change our mind, not just confirm it. 🙏
Flew out of Indy today with Monica and the kids + two of their cousins for Labor Day weekend at Disney.
One of them it’s their first time here, makes the trip even better.
Disney Springs tonight. Good food, some shopping and just enjoying being together.
Tomorrow: EPCOT + Hollywood Studios.
I love building businesses, but these are the days you’re building them for. 🙏
@LewisHowes Putting God first, loving my family well, building things that matter, and helping people become better because our paths crossed. If I can do those things and enjoy the life God gave me along the way, that’s a meaningful life to me.
Our team decided they want to work Labor Day.
Nobody had to convince them. They want to build.
That’s the kind of culture I’m trying to create here in Indianapolis.
I’m heading to Disney with my family tomorrow for the weekend, and Monday we’ll all be back at it together.
Enjoy life. Love your family. Build something you’re excited to come back to.
Gave myself a rest day from the gym today.
Took care of some things around the house, handled a few important meetings and now it’s Wednesday night church.
Business matters. Health matters. Goals matter.
But keeping God and family in the right place matters more than all of it.
Good Wednesday. 🙏
@XCreators@XMoney Now that payouts are moving to @XMoney any plans to make creator payouts more frequent or lower the minimum payout threshold? That would be nice for smaller creators.
4 sales today while training a rep.
I’ve built businesses. I’ve managed teams. I’ve had some wins.
But I still love getting out there and selling.
There’s something about knocking doors that keeps you sharp, keeps you humble and reminds you how businesses actually get built.
Great Tuesday. 👊
@davidkbernard Do you think the greatest danger with AI will ultimately be the technology itself, or mans inability to put moral boundaries around what we’re capable of creating?
@muskonomy@grok I’m loving @XMoney so far. How strong is @crossriverbank as the bank behind it. And if you had to rate the long-term risk of the bank failing from 1–10, what would you give it and why?
Building a new market will humble you.
Trained another new rep today. Picked up a sale. The team pushed.
But we didn’t have the day we wanted.
That’s part of building.
Tomorrow we regroup, make adjustments and go again.
I’m learning to enjoy these days just as much as the big ones.
Anybody can be excited when everything is working.
Building something requires staying excited while you’re still figuring it out.
Indianapolis is going to be special. We’re just getting started.
We had 7 sales today in Indy which is big for us, but that wasn’t the main highlight.
One of my newer reps almost didn’t get out of his car today he told me after work. (If you knock doors you know this feeling 😩)
He said school has been a lot, he’s preparing to preach this weekend, and he just wasn’t feeling it.
He got out anyway.
He got 2 sales but the bigger thing was, he knocked on a lady’s door who was going through some tough times and he stopped and prayed with her. So proud of this young man.
I was able to share in this too because me and the college student I’m training we also met a couple who recently moved to Indy from South Africa. I sold them, but during the conversation we found out they were also looking for a church.
So I got to invite them to ours.
Funny how that works.
Sometimes you think you’re knocking on a door to make a sale, and God has an entirely different reason for you being there.
