I enjoyed my experience at the Music Festival of Bitcoin Conferences.

Yes, there were some suitcoiners. That’s inevitable in the biggest “big tent” event of the entire Bitcoin ecosystem.

But there was also a lot of signal, especially on the Genesis and Freedom Go Up Stages.

It was fun seeing many old friends again.

It was fun meeting Twitter anons I’ve been mutuals with for years but had never met.

It was fun going to a lot of high signal talks and panels, especially on the side stages.

It was fun moderating a panel (in Spanish!), and if @TheBitcoinConf invites me again, I’ll be happy to speak next year in Nashville as well.

Medium of Exchange advocates need to actually show up if we want our perspective heard among the suits and treasury cos. The organizing team welcomes it.

It also struck me though that the purest signal in the Bitcoin world is still in El Salvador.

Events like this are important too, but you can’t go very deep on any topic with tens of thousands of people and multiple stages in just three days.

El Salvador is on the cutting edge 24/7/365 in all of the most interesting and important aspects of adoption:

Circular economies… educational initiatives… Bitcoin-based startups… mining, treasury reserves, and regulatory clarity… developers and users.

It’s not just theory or political promises. Bitcoin Country is still the leader for actually deploying all aspects of hyperbitcoinization in the real world.

Conferences can only give you a taste of the future.

In El Salvador, you can live on a Bitcoin Standard full time, surrounded by the most Bitcoiners per capita of any county on earth.

The overlap between AI and Bitcoin was also an especially hot topic at the conference this year.

El Salvador is leading in that area too, as @sovaisv just demonstrated.

So I have three main conclusions from the event:

1. Despite the online criticism, you absolutely can still have an authentic experience with fellow plebs at the Bitcoin Conference

2. Monetary maxis need to actually show up and compete in the free market of ideas

3. Even the biggest events can only give you a taste of signal. If you want the full Bitcoin experience at its best full time, come visit and build in El Salvador
