@beyondthepaid I've been seeing Spanish language queries in English campaigns for a while now. Translating them into English usually has the same meaning as the initial Keyword, but in Spanish.

As always, if they don't convert, exclude them 🤷‍♂️

[Collin Slattery @CJSlattery]

We all assume that hidden search terms waste money, but I wanted proof.

So I analyzed $20 million in spend, 14 million clicks, across 933 campaigns to see for myself.

Turns out they do and to a staggering degree!

For every $1 in ads you buy, Google siphons $0.85 in forced inefficiency through hidden search terms.

I'm firmly in the "this is not for privacy but for Google to sell low quality inventory" camp, and the rest of the data bears that out.

Beyond the lower efficiency, we also saw CPCs that were 52% higher and CTRs that were 44% lower.

It was a pretty herculean task getting all this research compiled, and I've written up all my findings in a blog post, which you can find in the first comment!

@NeptuneMoon @Pete_Bowen Untimatly it's about testing LSV and volume and adjusting accordingly

[James Svoboda @Realicity]

@NeptuneMoon @Pete_Bowen LSV (low search volume) is tough. I often test "City + Service" keyword variations and track which ones are LSV.

For the ones that are NOT LSV, i'll run those in their own ad groups if they have enough volume.

For just "Service" keywords they'll get a general non-city Ad Group

@AaronWeiche We new this team had flaws.

I had zero expectations we were making the Superbowl and expected a sub-500 season back in August.

I'm grateful for the 14 win season.

K, guys, c'mon. Restoring my attribution on the Portent blog but nofollowing back to my site. And NOT restoring attribution to other Portent authors?

This doesn't have to be that hard.
