A plea to teachers and parents taking school parties on the tube network. When you see obviously frail elderly or disabled people who can't find a seat because they're all taken by your pupils, I think it's your job to sort it out
When we say Clean Up Britain is a non-party political campaign, we mean it. This sort of disgraceful + embarrassing sight on the A2 road, just above Dover, should worry and shame us all.
Can you imagine what international visitors think of us? @JuLlewellyn
Shameful sight in the capital.
This is LGBQT2++++++ Pride in London yesterday.
It's a shame that some of these people don't have any real pride... in looking after, and respecting, the environment and our country. @CamillaTominey
First it was Autumnwatch axed by the @BBC
Now Winterwatch is being axed too... 😡
How long before the flagship @BBCSpringwatch goes the same way? 😒
These shows are educational, fun and extremely popular.... but who needs nature anyway eh?
Sickening decision... 😔😡
Brainless idiots who have nothing to contribute to the world. How very sad this is and they are. Sadly they'll probably never see these comments and may not be able to read if they do. 😬
I often wonder what the fuck is wrong with society 👇
Heartfelt congratulations to the person who dug up the pitch at the Crown Hill Cricket Ground to prove their "success."
You succeeded in your mission.
Westcroft Cricket Club has, with great regret, been forced to withdraw from the league because it is no longer possible for other teams to play in this constant environment of vandalism.
You did not just damage a pitch; you stripped away the favorite sport, the joy, the friendships, and the healthy activities of over 80 children, youths, and adult players.
Congratulations on impacting an entire cricketing community.
Congratulations on undermining the hard work of volunteers who dedicate their time, money, and energy to promote the sport.
Congratulations on disappointing the parents who wanted to see their children engaged in positive activities.
Cricket is not just a game; it is a source of discipline, friendship, respect, and community cohesion.
It is tragic that someone’s negative mindset and destructive actions have washed away the happiness of so many people.
Hopefully, you are satisfied today knowing that a single action of yours has affected dozens of matches, hundreds of hours of hard work, and the happiness of countless individuals. But remember, grounds can be rebuilt, pitches can be prepared again, and the cricket community can bounce back stronger than ever.
Our full support and respect goes out to Westcroft Cricket Club, its players, volunteers, and supporters.
We hope this difficult time passes quickly and that the voices of children and youth will once again echo through the cricket ground.
A Call to the Community
We request all readers to strongly condemn this shameful act. The person who damaged the cricket ground and pitch did not just dig up soil—they attacked the happiness of dozens of children, youth, and athletes.
If you also believe that damaging sports fields, youth activities, and community hard work is unacceptable, then please raise your voice against this act.
Express your condemnation at least once, so a message goes out that our community will never accept such negative and destructive behavior.
Your single comment, a word, or even one voice can serve as proof of standing with this community.
Show solidarity with Westcroft Cricket Club, its 80+ players, and all its volunteers.
Sports stand for love, unity, and positive engagement. It is the responsibility of us all to discourage those who destroy them.
Westcroft Cricket Club.
What’s your story of Civic Minded action being squashed?? @alastairmci ??
Mine is living at Quaker Cottage in Leeds and clearing snow to prevent ice on the pavement and path to the Schoolroom we hired out to Alcoholics Anonymous.
Some misery told me I’d get myself sued if someone fell over. Better to leave it -even if it compacts into solid ice -he said.
Cleared and gritted the path anyway. Completely clear next day.
That kind of mentality drives me nuts. I refuse to think of the worst and take the best case action I would do for myself. All else is madness. Sue me!

Afghan woman is crying in unbearable pain. Her voice carries the pain of millions of women in Afghanistan.
She says: “The Taliban fired at my heart and at my head because I demanded my rights, my education, and my freedom. They attacked us Afghan women, harassed us, and tried to silence us for raising our voices.”
Her tears are not just tears, they are the cries of a nation’s daughters being abandoned by the world.
Every tear she sheds tells a story of suffering, fear, and broken dreams.
It is heartbreaking to witness women begging for their basic rights while the world remains silent.
How much more pain must Afghan women endure before the world finally listens?
Where is the United Nations? Where is the international community? Where is the EU? Why are you silent?
The silence is heartbreaking. The silence is painful. The silence is dangerous.
This silence is enabling normalization.
I call on each of you: raise your voice. Stand for humanity. Stand for Afghan women’s rights. Stand for women’s and girls’ education. Stand against gender apartheid in Afghanistan.
Silence in the face of oppression is complicity. The women and girls of Afghanistan must not be abandoned.
