@BuhardeenImtiaz CBSL bought over USD 500mn from banks in August without any notable increase in USD Inflows to the country. Excess was due to lower imports. The country is in a stand still. You will be able to see it Q2 numbers.
@chami9539 No Entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka. Mere Rent Seekers who enjoy the protectionism policies in the country. When Indian consumers get to eat rice at Rs 60/- we are paying over 4 times of it. The consumer get burdened twice by bearing up fertiliser subsidiary and higher rice price.
@jdissanayaka@PickMeLK Probably we will never be able to convince these guys about the damage this government is doing by curtailing the much needed reforms. It will be similar to the changes happened in 1956. We still can't convince some people that Sri Lanka lost all the opportunities bcoz of 1956.
@Imtiaz88Zahrah@zahranc@anuradisanayake CEOs are expensive. Labourers are cheap. No need to say what will happen to an entity when a labourer is appointed as CEO just because price is cheaper.
@numberslka The elephant in the room is wheather public funds were invested into the project. Clear answer already revealed. Why do public care about the income received by the Chinese investor as long as due taxes been paid.
@erangatennakoon Duty calculation based on Engine or Motor capacity is no longer viable. Paying lesser Duties on Atto 3 than Toyota Raize cannot be justified. If they don't fix this, SL will get flooded with high capacity EVs with Firmware gimmicks when grey market importers come into the picture
@nomadic_sanjee@NewsWireLK Some people in SL didn't have any means to provide for their families. Then RW grabbed the golden opportunity to send some unskilled labour to Israel. So may I ask what's wrong with it ?
@ChapmanMuth@sajinvg@dhananath True. Renewable energy generation cost are to come down drastically in coming years. So we better wait for another couple of years to commit ourselves for a project. Until then we either stay in dark and go for far too expensive thermal power.
@BuduMalli Agreed. Those were the days. Vehicle Duties slashed, Interest Rates cut down and funny part is even LKR/USD rate improved. It was like a young newly employed guy getting his first credit card. Spending time is very joyous. But when you repaying, your lifestyle totally collapsed.
@udendra@numberslka I think that the Gov has attempted to defend prices of EVs brought to SL under special permits. The prices were double due to black market price of the permits.
