@Canonandcreed It’s pretty sad how pop Calvinism which isn’t even true Calvinism is what everyone thinks of when it comes to the reformed tradition. The pop level TULIP reformed Baptist guys are insufferable. I feel for you guys having to see this slop 24/7
@michaelj7195 LCMS is so beautiful. I hope to see more people find the beauty in it. I recently converted from modern evangelicalism to the true evangelical catholic faith and it’s been such a joy!
@lovinglyprolife I went to 2 LCMS churches and one nobody really introduced themselves but the other one is the friendliest congregation I’ve ever been to in my life. People that just check out an LCMS church without studying the theology usually are looking for a warm welcome with nice people
@DrJordanBCooper Sadly evangelicals that know no history listen to this, a few Trent Horn videos and off to Rome they go. Once you watch one video about Rome they just feed more and more and it feels like the whole world is converting
@Catholicizm1 I was there with many Protestants/evangelicals who thought that guy was a joke. He’s an independent fundamental Baptist spewing nonsense about how every form of Christianity is corrupt besides his. He said im lost for being Lutheran 😂
@___mithrandir_@theblessedsalt I actually confronted him when he disrespected the Eucharist and as a Lutheran he said I’m going to hell for believing in the real presence. The guy is an absolute joke
@MaximusMAGAMer@HansFiene I just started attending an LCMS Church and I am seeing a lot of these things being done by a very faithful pastor. It seems there’s many faithful pastors and congregations in the LCMS
@OfJawea@Tawadros15 There’s been some big time theologians in the Lutheran tradition like Martin Chemnitz and Gerhard who definitely paved the way for Lutheran orthodoxy and what it means. Don’t get me wrong confessional Lutheransim still has its issues and fights, but I see that everywhere tbh
@OfJawea@Tawadros15 I’d say most of the stuff is pretty well agreed on, sure there’s always gonna be some things people don’t agree 100% on but I don’t think Rome gets you out of that situation either. People have to interpret papal bulls, ex cathedra statements, councils and not everyone agrees
@Tawadros15@OfJawea Yeah I’d stay away from that. They abandoned historical lutheransim and even Christianity but just keep the Lutheran name for recognition. It’s a travesty tbh. LCMS is more conservative. Most LCMS churches are liturgical, have the supper every week and beautiful hymns
@OfJawea@Tawadros15 Anyone who holds to the 1580 book of concord. At least that’s a requirement for the pastors. The members in the LCMS need to affirm the small catechism written by Luther I believe. There’s many apostate groups who use the name “Lutheran”. It’s sad to see
@OfJawea@Tawadros15 I’m not coming at you guys, I’m just trying to look objectively from the outside. I’m joining the LCMS Lutheran Church but I’d consider myself decently ecumenical and have respect for both RCs and EO
@GerhardsGhost Is there any official Lutheran confessions or statements that address how we should look at EO? It seems some Lutherans are very ecumenical towards them and some are the exact opposite. I have a friend who went EO and it would be helpful to know how to view them
