@Publius35818007@Augger1@willie6850 You are 💯 in the top half of the K economy…. I’ve made ok money in my life, and also struggled esp post-COVID.
I’m in the rebuild now. Slowly churning, but it’s a different USA now.
@JoeAlderman11 The biggest takeaway I gathered is that you carefully considered the decision, including your hardware, and re-iterated that you trained knowing you’ll have to slide the rack upon engagement
I chamber all-times, but again it’s diff hardware and environment
@MysticalWhisky@Ross__Hendricks@jrichlive@carlquintanilla But it actually doesn’t…. more IT pros are gonna use a local model on a decent gpu locally for 95+ percent of their workload
…trying to cure cancer or gain of function lab, ok…. But the avg DBA at the local car dealership or HR at the Home Depot, all this buildout is a waste
@drjoshcsimmons@CavemanComfy14 In auto manufacturing and most factories and companies absolutely do aptitude testing to find where you’re best suited.
Ofc, a firm like Amazon would do it with AI even before you’re hired, thereby putting more onerous and unrewarded input before you’re even on the payroll.
@tomieinlove The important lesson to learn here is that nowadays, loyalty is punished instead of being rewarded.
You comfortable in your station in life? They know it. They keep increasing, gambling on the chance that you won’t invest your energy finding a better deal.
@Biotchinvestor@VladTheInflator It might be 2x, but as @VladTheInflator is showing, 2x will be ‘pocket change.’
Just like out SS, yes you’ll get your $2k/mo as promised…. Sadly all it will cover is your power bill. 😅😩
@DarioCpx I remember about 3 months ago when “oil was trading” at $86/barrel or similar
Same day, actual barrels of oil were $286/ea in Singapore
There’s paper oil, and actual oil
@SimpleCRE Drive thru times get slower.
Frantic cooks start frying whole bags of fries, cooking extra burgers that aren’t needed yet to get ahead.
You wait longer, get frustrated. When you are serviced, your burger is limp and fries mediocre.
It’s good product, but difficult to execute
@SimpleCRE So you cut labor….. but you need an extra person on late night (WB calls it early bird) to unload a food shipment, clean the shake machine, deep clean equipment etc
So you cut labor during the day. Now, you’re short on workers and then you get a rush—unable to keep up. /3
