Helicopter B-Roll Footage from Manassas, Virginia:
Slow day on Wednesday 09.09.26 for breaking news but the helicopters were busy at newly renamed Washington-Manassas Airport (KHEF/MNZ) with @PHIAirMed AirCare 1 (EC135 branded for @InovaHealth Fairfax Hospital) and N828HA (B206B) coming and going. Unfortunately for anyone wanting to film AirCare 1, a chain link fence is in the way now for their new location.

Nothing like getting blasted by the wind of rotor wash from a Bell 407 medevac helicopter. @PHIAirMed Aircare 2 is seen on approach to runway 06 at Shannon Airport (KEZF) near Fredericksburg in Spotsylvania County, VA then sidestepping direct to the helipad and the dolly at base.

Nice landing by Pilot Shaun. I am always impressed by how these helo pilots can land on a small platform with wheels and make it look so easy.

N427P is the region's spare now but she spent many years as AirCare 2's primary aircraft. Nice to see her again!

And that's Flight Paramedic Stephanie coming over to see who the shady character is with a video camera. We had a nice chat shortly after so guess I was OK.

On September 2, 2026, this @GulfstreamAero GVI (#G650ER) with registration N473US and nicknamed "Liberty" made a couple approaches at Richmond International Airport @Flack4RIC airport after returning from a short milk run up to Washington-Manassas Regional Airport (KHEF).

Registered owner is U.S. Department of Homeland Security (#DHS) however she was flying with a "JENA" callsign. "JENA" is not a DHS callsign but a "company" callsign of another well-known alphabet agency. Reply if you know what it is (but don't post it here!).

Update 2: 1134 am: MVA in Stafford County I-95 NB at MM140 involving overturned tractor-trailer truck. Driver deceased. Only occupant in truck. No other reported injuries.

Right shoulder and two right lanes blocked. Expect extensive delays.

In 97-degree heat and high humidity, @RFDVA Richmond ⁨#Fire Department #firefighters were dispatched for a commercial structure fire for a health care facility.

First arriving engine company, Engine 10, encountered a parked car blocking the primary and closest fire hydrant to the fire building. Connection of the supply hose from the #hydrant to the engine was hindered by the #illegally parked car and firefighters had to lay the hose line over the car.

The fire turned out to be a smell of smoke which was quickly identified and resolved.

A police officer of the #Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department @VCUPD issued a summons to the parked vehicle and later explained the situation to the driver of the car who appeared on the scene later in the incident. Fortunately, there was no damage or injury and the incident response was not hindered by the illegally parked car.

A Spotsylvania County, Virginia, firefighter was remembered by family, friends and colleagues at a #memorial service tonight after his tragic death on August 13, 2026. Firefighter Mason Fercovic-Ortegel, 24, of #Spotsylvania County Fire Station 4, passed away while off-duty during the evening hours of an apparent #drowning at Lake Anna.

Fire Officers and Firefighters from numerous Spotsylvania companies attended the memorial service which featured a large American flag suspended from two ladder trucks in a familiar tribute to fallen members of the fire service.

Firefighter Fercovic-Ortegel had been with the department for two years.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA -- At approximately 1:00pm today (Auguest 19, 2026) @PWCFireRescue County fire crews were dispatched to a residential structure in the located on the 12900 block of Sturbridge Road in the Lake Ridge area of the county.

Initial reports from occupants reported a faulty power outlet. Upon arrival, firefighters stretched a dry attack line and conducted an initial assessment and search for victims. No smoke or flames were visible and there was no immediate danger to life or health of the occupants. Firefighters secured a power breaker to the residence and returned to service.

Responding units: Paramedic Engine 502, Paramedic Engine 514, Paramedic Engine 520, Truck 520 and Battalion Chief 502. @IAFF2598
