For my friends and colleagues who have followed my biotech—nay, TechBio—journey, as Monty Python would say, “and now for something completely different!” And therein lies the fun, and the learning...

I guess it depends on the illness…. There is one with a denominator of all humans. And in working on each disease with a smaller denominator we learn something about the larger denominator.

Same in tech. Rocket cars or F1 cars aren’t for everyone (or really anyone), but the learnings from the frontier teach us in ways that make all cars better over time.

If we took more big swings in LS, we wouldn’t really fail more than we already do on average (because we mostly fail already today), but we would learn and grow more quickly across the field.

I’d contend in the end, more big swings in LS in the short term will lead to more big wins in the long term. We just have to take them.

[Chris Gibson @RecursiveChris]

There’s a lot of truth embedded in this hilarious comment.

Yet, at the end of the day, I think almost everyone would choose better medicines over trick cars (though kudos to @Tesla because that shit is cool)…

But our life science ecosystem is less comfortable with big swings for the fences than in tech, which creates a self-perpetuating cycle of risk-resistance.

Maybe it is because so many drugs fail… even the conservative bets are risk-on. But therein lies the point - all bets are risky in the old systems, so we need to find new ways to think and systems for discovery, not just new drugs.

Kudos to the pioneers out there trying to make the system better.

Recursion Announces New Clinical Data Across Two Potential First-in-Class Programs, Sanofi Partnership Milestone, and Oversubscribed $200M Offering

Today, we announced important progress across our clinical pipeline, partnerships, and capital position—reflecting growing evidence of what our integrated AI-enabled drug discovery platform can deliver.

🚀 REC-4881 | Deep, durable polyp reductions in FAP
In an expanded adult population (18+), 87% of patients achieved polyp burden reductions after 12 weeks (47% median), with 85% remaining below baseline after 12 weeks off treatment.

In the upper GI—the area of greatest unmet need—92% achieved reductions (55% median), including two patients with near-complete reductions (≥98%). Of those with reductions, 92% remained below baseline after 12 weeks off treatment.

With no approved pharmacologic therapies for FAP, we are targeting registrational trial initiation in 2H 2027, pending FDA discussions. Full data will be presented November 2 at CGA-IGC.

🚀 REC-1245 | Encouraging early activity in heavily pretreated cancer patients
Our potential first-in-class oral RBM39 degrader demonstrated three partial responses (two confirmed in endometrial cancer; one unconfirmed in liver cancer) and 91.7% disease control (11/12) at doses ≥45 mg. No dose-limiting toxicities or treatment-related serious adverse events were observed at the selected 45 mg expansion dose.

🚀 Sanofi | First development candidate optioned
Two challenging targets, one oral molecule. A potential first-in-class candidate for inflammatory disease, enabled by Recursion’s AI platform and small-molecule chemistry capabilities alongside Sanofi’s expertise.
Phase 1 expected in 2027, marking the sixth progress-based milestone across our collaboration.

🚀 $200M Oversubscribed Follow-On Offering | Extending Runway Into 2029
Broad demand from leading healthcare specialists, long-only institutions, and growth investors, including Janus Henderson Investors, Invus, Longaeva Partners, ARK Invest, and Driehaus Capital Management.

The financing supports advancement of our clinical pipeline, continued AI engine innovation, and strategic partnerships.

Multiple independent proof points. Across diseases, programs, and partnerships. Powered by one integrated AI-enabled engine.

Thank you to our employees, collaborators, clinical investigators, patients, and investors who make this progress possible.

Many analysts want to talk WACC or get an update on a trial that is BLINDED and you can’t legally say anything about.

Simon wanted to talk about science, patients, markets, culture, new programs. One of the top analysts and one of the few I looked forward to chatting with as I always learned something. Privileged to now get to learn from you each day @SimonDBarnett. And mildly intimidated on the regular by the breadth of your grasp on all the things AND how they fit together.

Excited to partner again!

[Simon Barnett @SimonDBarnett]

I'm really grateful that @RecursionChris has chosen to join @_DimensionCap. I'm fortunate to be able to speak and learn from him so regularly.

When I was getting started on the buy-side, I initially focused entirely on public companies. I was lucky enough to meet Chris and his team at Recursion during their IPO process.

As a young and naive person, it was career-altering for me to get the chance to absorb what the company was doing. Chris was, by far, one of the most willing and open individuals I'd met on a public c-suite.

Now that I'm older and wiser, I can appreciate even more that he didn't have to do that. He didn't have to speak to an early 20-something. But he did anyway, and it speaks to the type of person Chris is. He's selfless and incredibly driven.

Moreover, that relationship also helped me get closer with @nanli, @zavaindar, and @AGoulburn, whom I owe just as much!

So now I'm here and so grateful to all be pushing in the same direction.

[Chris Gibson @RecursiveChris]

@AGoulburn @Nicole_Paulk @_DimensionCap Says the bloke who’s been in America so long he orders a ‘flat white’ and gets handed a latte…

[Chris Gibson @RecursiveChris]

@bryce TOO KIND @bryce! But also ditto for you!

[Chris Gibson @RecursiveChris]

🤣

But in seriousness, it's really great for the field to have fiercely smart and opinionated people debate openly. We do far too little of it in bio. Everybody mostly whispers...

[Errik B. Anderson @errikanderson]

@jrkelly @endpts @ArmstrongDrew I heard @endpts is saving that for a collab with the @WWE for season 35 of Raw.

[Chris Gibson @RecursiveChris]

@Nicole_Paulk @zavaindar @_DimensionCap 🥳

[Chris Gibson @RecursiveChris]

HAHAHAHA. We will settle our poker debts every 5 years so we get a true sense of skill over time Nikhil!

Guess that fresh, clean Oregonian water grows great tech folks! So excited to partner with and learn from you as we go!!!

[Chris Gibson @RecursiveChris]

@zavaindar @_DimensionCap Very excited to be joining. Let's get to it!!!

[Zavain Dar @zavaindar]

.@RecursionChris is joining DIMENSION as Operating Partner. Chris has already positively changed the arcs, ambitions, careers, and lives of many people, including my own. Excited to have him play a growing role in the future of @_DimensionCap and our portfolio!

[Chris Gibson @RecursiveChris]

I've joined @_DimensionCap as an operating partner.

I'll be building cool stuff with people I love and trust.

Here's a bit more about what I'll be doing and why I chose to join this incredible team for this season of my career.
