On February 6, 2024, Georgia was struck by a series of natural disasters, significantly impacting several municipalities. prompting the mobilization of rescue agencies and volunteer teams from the @GeorgiaRedCross to assist the affected victims.
In my recent interview with GLOW Red newsletter, we discussed the upcoming IFRC election. I aspire to pave the way for women to become influential leaders within IFRC and beyond. As a candidate for IFRC President, my motivation lies in a steadfast belief in the leadership power of women, and equally, in my own capabilities.
I am running for IFRC President- because I believe in inclusion and diversity.

Dozens of people are missing and some are dead in a landslide affecting the Shovi area in eastern Georgia. Roads and bridges are destroyed.
The teams of @RedCrossGeorgia have mobilized to support emergency services and people affected with first aid, water and other essentials.
Staff and Volunteers of Georgia Red Cross Society Ambrolauri branch are mobilized on field in emergency location.
Disaster Management, First Aid, Restoring Family Links and Psychosocial Support teams are already in place.
On June 15-16, more than 5,000 residents were impacted by severe floods in Gurjaani and Lentekhi municipalities.@GeorgiaRedCross with @ifrc visited affected families in Gurjaani municipality and met with local authorities to understand existing situations and their main needs.
Heavy flooding in eastern Georgia affected thousands of people in June. As they are trying to rebuild their households, the @RedCrossGeorgia teams are on the ground to assist.
@IFRC_DREF has allocated over 280,000 CHF to
ensure much-needed support for over 5,700 people.

Successful 14th Mediterranean Conference of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies!
The 3rd Mediterranean Youth meeting was held prior to the conference. We discussed role of youth in the Red Cross / Red Crescent interventions in support of people on the move, advocacy in climate action, volunteering, gender and diversity, self-care, and peer support.
We are committed to empower youth for a brighter today!
14th Mediterranean Conference of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Cairo.
In our sessions we discussed current and future humanitarian challenges, complex emergencies, and RC/RC collective response, scaling up our response to climate change and environmental issues.

During my visit to Greece, I had a meeting with Dea Mumladze, Charge d'affaires of Georgia to the Hellenic Republic. We talked about the IFRC network global and Hellenic RC activities, as well as about purpose of my visit to Greece. We both agreed that cooperation between governments and national societies are important in addressing global humanitarian challenges.
I would like to express my appreciation to Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown for hosting me in Romania and giving opportunities to meet personally, and observe commendable work done by the Romanian Red Cross, its Leadership, staff and volunteers.
