The solution is simple.

“Pay to ring”

Consumers set a price to activate their phone, at their discretion an amount between $0 and $10. If they answer and the call lasts longer than 30 seconds, the fee is waived.

Once a fee is waived the caller is whitelisted automatically.

Make it opt-in. Callers are warned about the fee and must agree to pay it. Telco collects the fee and applies it to consumers bill and applies any excess to future bills.

It’ll stop it hardcore.

@daveg It's not about the level of AI but the satisfaction from earning affection. Typical current AI treats me with attention and (platonic) affection from the moment of opening a chat. A cat is a being that reciprocates care with affection. Current AI levels could do that but don't.
