Everyone in the media is throwing a tantrum over Trump and Hegseth's words about Russia-Ukraine peace talks. I believe they're looking accommodating to Russia to build a narrative that Russia and the Dems are both unreasonable, to get MAGA on board after talks fail.
@anonimouse99@YYC_Confluence Just add a 2.5-3 inch memory foam mattress topper (thinner = firmer for some reason). Get one with some sort of added thing for better cooling.
@YYC_Confluence Buy a $400 mattress that comes compressed and delivered to your door, then go out and find a high quality memory foam topper for another $200-400 and just replace that every 5 years.
@JamesSurowiecki It's a lot easier for an outside group to merely watch the initial results and then start injecting fraudulent mail-in ballots into the results in response than it is to rig the entire counting apparatus. It's also a lot easier to not get caught.
@Enphian Russia is proof that socialism is the LAST thing you want if you care about the environment. They have had shit like this all over the place there for decades. https://t.co/JpB9ru05pc
@sweatystartup Spoken like a person who hasn't been mugged by political reality yet. I hope when it finally happens to you it's not life-destroying. You may not care about politics, but politics cares about you.
@shagbark_hick Property tax is a far more progressive tax than income tax. Virtually everyone has income, but far fewer people have property. That being said, some sort of discount for primary residences seems reasonable.
@ego_kingdom@Not_the_Bee Lotteries are not statistically impossible, they're very possible. The outcome is improbable but nowhere near implausible, by design.
@ItsLulu_7 Nothing about capitalism requires infinite anything. Government-run ponzi schemes like social program spending is the only thing that seems to assume infinite growth.
@BernoulliDefect Capitalism does not require infinite growth. I don't know why people keep claiming this. PONZI SCHEMES like government-run pensions and social programs require infinite growth. That's not capitalism.
@ThrillaRilla369 While I generally agree, I do like the fact that it kinda serves as a form of idiot tax, in that if you own property in an inefficiently-run high tax jurisdiction, you pay for it.
