I am a realist, results-focused Democratic candidate, running to represent District 17 (Rockville & Gaithersburg) in Maryland’s House of Delegates. In recent years, we have seen Marylanders priced out, and leaving the state in droves. Our bills are soaring, the state is increasing fees across the board, and now this folly of a war has jacked up fuel prices on top of everything else.
Right now we have leaders who are more focused on being obstinate, or worse actively fighting for regressive policies. At each event this campaign cycle, I’ve seen my competitors spend majority of their time spouting glittering generalities, and mudslinging. If that is the energy they’re bringing to Annapolis, it’s no wonder Maryland is backsliding.
According to U.S. News & World Report, nationally Maryland ranks:
• 42 in Affordability
• 45 in Transportation
• 48 in Economic Growth
• 35 in Public Safety
As Marylanders, we don’t have to passively accept the degrading quality of our home. If you want someone who is going to focus solely on their constituents, if you want someone who won’t waste time playing into party politics, if you want someone who’s only concern is improving the quality of Maryland, then vote Reed for Delegate at the polls this month.
Let’s turn things around together.

@BobbyBorkIII I am quite the fan of Canada’s WWI memorial built in France. It’s the perfect mix of art-deco and art-nouveau. It would be wonderful to see something as timeless brought to DC.
Yesterday, after the League of Women Voters debate, an #MCPS teacher approached me to share with me her own experience of administration pressuring her to change grades so that her students would pass and then graduate.
One case stood out in particular: She assigned high school senior in her class a project to complete to show content mastery after they missed *60 days worth of school*. Administration said she was creating obstacles and to remove them.
Unfortunately, this is not anything brand new to MCPS. When I taught at Gaithersburg High School, I had the audacity of maintaining the integrity of my grade book instead of changing a students’ grades so that they could play. Other teachers experienced the same pressure.
What would graduation rates look like in MCPS if grade inflation didn’t exist? If we stopped social promotion?
The veneer of excellence is collapsing, as it should. Now is the time to do the hard work of performing a proper forensic analysis in order to rebuild the foundation of academic excellence within MCPS.

@kevsaucebro I would love to see these plans revisited. Redline should definitely be extended to Gaithersburg, ideally further, possibly to as far as Frederick.
This may be the most shameless example yet of an administration that views taxpayer money as a tool to reward loyalty and punish critics.
I’m demanding answers, pushing for oversight, and fighting to stop this abuse of taxpayer dollars.
BREAKING: The Trump administration is planning to implement NDAs for all federal workers.
The draft of this proposed rule is already out, according to the Washington Post, and will be published tomorrow.
The @PurpleLineMD is designed to run roughly 90% of its 16.2-mile route in its own dedicated ROW with 52 grade crossings. It will also be running the longest Light rail vehicle in the US at 142 feet long in mixed traffic for 1.4 miles on Wayne Avenue. #LightRailSafety#BikeDC
Officials in Harford County are considering a data center ban, but Bill Vasilakopoulos, the owner of Mountain Branch Golf Course is pushing back, calling for the county to regulate data centers instead.
While Vasilakopoulos is hoping to build an "AI energy campus" on his 275-acre property in Joppa.

The best way to understand the struggles facing Chesapeake watermen, is to ask them directly. @CrabDadCJ does a great job explaining the obstacles facing the Maryland crabbing industry as he sees them.
