Iowa public land pheasant. Heavily pressured area, 25+ year old steel shot, all it takes is many miles of walking & a 10 year old GSP. Thanks Radar! #iowa#GSP#pheasant
#JWST math: grain of sand at arm's length est of 125-225B galaxies. At 100B stars/galaxy:
100B galaxies x 100B stars/galaxy = 1.e+22 stars
10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars
Or Ten Sextillion or ten thousand million million million
#NASAWebb@NASA#JWST_HST_SciVI
This suggests that there could be between 125-225 billion galaxies.
If we assume that these are evenly distributed across the sky, then there could be anywhere from 200 to 400,000 galaxies behind your sand grain

grains of sand have on average a radius of 1/16 to 2 mm (R). let's assume something at arm's length's about 75 cm away (r) so we can find how much "space" the grain of sand takes up in the sky by using [steradians] to take up (2 pi h)/r, where h is given by r(1-cos(theta)) = h
simplifying, area = 2 * pi * 1 -cos(theta)
cos(theta) simply equals r/sqrt(R2 + r2)
working out, we get 2.2 x 10-5 to 2.2× 10-8 rad2 for its area. Dividing this by the total area, which is 4 pi, we get values of 1.8 × 10-6 to 1.7 × 10-9 as fractions of the total area of the sky
#VRBPAC FDA meeting on adding omicron strain to vaccines this summer/fall took interesting turn when three members said @Novavax's old-school Wuhan strain--not yet EUA'd by FDA--seems sturdier than either of mRNA vaxes. @KHNews
And in the biggest shocker of any VRBPAC I've seen, Novavax showed up. We're used to them not being invited to the party.
And not only did they show up, they actually presented new data on Omicron including BA1 BA2 and BA5.
And it was very impressive data too
