We had a great time learning and sharing at #SCA2024! Thank you to everyone who represented our department, and congratulations to those who presented research. 🐊💙🧡🐊
Thank you for this nomination @UF_Anesthesia!
Our fellowship cohort is a valuable source for resident education and mentorship. Trainee and educator are not mutually exclusive roles!
Congratulations to Reed Kamyszek, M.D., who was chosen by our residents as the March Physician Educator of the Month! 🎉

@BenYAndrew@armyemdoc Other aspects to consider: what triggers the decision to initiate a massive transfusion protocol (MTP)?Treatment to which endpoints? These (at least clinically) ultimately impact volumes/product transfused. We looked at MTP in peds (@LisaTracyMD) and it seems even less standard.
@rishikumarmd Color flow doppler of parasternal long axis view on TTE, looks like a VSD (w/ L>>R flow during systole). More towards apex so perhaps muscular VSD, ddx congenital vs acquired after infarct
Grateful for the mentorship on this residency-long project. A standardized protocol for airway management outside of the operating room maintained the standard of care and a high level of first pass success of tracheal intubation with the onset of the #COVID19 pandemic.
So, about that retirement...
@chfox is back home! After retiring as head coach in 2018 and spending the past five years in the professional ranks, the NCAA title-winning head coach is returning to Syracuse to join Brien Bell's staff.

Exciting and groundbreaking work from @UMichAnesthesia as we advance perioperative medicine. Have to recognize @ReedKam for developing an idea and seeing a study through to the finish during a busy residency! Too bad we couldn’t convince him on a head and neck fellowship!
