Had a very meaningful discussion with CEHRD, #Nepal including Director Girman Thapa. #MATPD fellows and field mentors shared their learning through #mentoring course & experiences of mentoring.#TransformingEducation
Meet more MATPD fellows this week, and learn about their action research! As part of his action research, Shailendra Sapkota from Nepal is working with teachers to integrate the use of an interactive tool, @geogebra to teach calculus.
Lastly we met all the teachers working with @Rajkumar2029 and Narayan and heard their experience of participation in #MATPD. They shared that there is hardly any focus on practicals in #science#teaching and very few #women science teachers in #Nepal.
We also visited Pashchimanchal secondary school in #Pokhara to see @Rajkumar2029 fellows teacher in action #Experimenting with microscope observations of transverse sections with the help of collaboratively developed worksheet. #Biology
Myself and @ReemaGovil met with Centre for Education and Human Resource Department officials (CEHRD) Girman Thapa (Director) ,Raju Shrestha, Shankar Adhikari and Rajni Dhimal in #Kathmandu in #Nepal. We discussed in detail the #mentorship model of #MATPD .
We discussed how mentors also need continuous support to learn to mentor teachers. The fellows from "Multimodal approach to TPD" will be meeting with CEHRD members to share their experiences.
The MATPD project is aimed at strengthening teacher professional development in Nepal, Maldives, and Afghanistan. Over 45 fellows from Nepal, Maldives, and Afghanistan are learning about mentoring, ICT and action research to strengthen their practice as teacher educators.
@yugjsingh@mukundkedia@ccsindia I beg to differ. Children need to be taught in their home language so that there is greater understanding of the concepts. English can always be learnt as a language.
@ccsindia Not very sure! On one hand, If we use them prudently to identify gaps and take corrective measures then I think it’s a good move. Having said that, children may get stressed and burdened at a very young age. #NEP2020#EduPolicy#CCSTweets
@ccsindia We need more of high quality budget private schools and that will only happen when we open up and there is competition. #NEP2020#EduPolicy#CCSTweets
