For those who don’t know: Sunshine by @LizardByteDev let you stream your PC monitor to another device with very low latency — so I can play my games in my living room without moving my whole PC there 😅

Most tutorials say you need an HDMI dummy dongle for this.

I actually bought one… but it didn’t support 4K 🤡

So, naturally, I spent the night writing my own Linux driver to create virtual displays instead 😜

Open source, simple, and free. No dongle required.

Works on @bazzite_gg and other common Linux distros.

@dhh A huge problem with Linux is packaging, due to so many distros and dynamic linking being the norm. If a distro shipped with static libs for everything I think it would help.

@dhh I tried switching and really wanted to like it, but it's just not a good experience. Nothing is user friendly, but the worst is trying to run Windows programs in Wine. If I didn't game, it'd probably be fine, but I went back to Winblows. My experiment was CashyOS, not Omarchy tho
