I realized most sports fans can’t separate their vitriol and political opinions from their sports takes. Take the average Hindu UFC fighter, his malice for Islam and Muslims has him parroting white supremacist
@RobinRevvedUp@MYCOM100@TeamKhabib Lol, it’s so funny witnessing you Indians time and time again attempt to discredit the Muslim fighters over and over. Your disdain for the Muslims blinds you from seeing the plain and obvious truth.
@CvBullet I don’t care for MAGA celebrating, because this is all entertainment at the end of the day, but Ilia was incredibly arrogant and Gaethje is a respectful to the Muslim fighters + he’s the Highlight so I’m happy he won.
@swaveyxquis I realized all of these YouTubers all go the same route when they start vlogging 24/7. It’s draining to be authentic and principled all the time, so why bother with that when you can generate more traction by playing a character? LOW, unfortunately falls into this group, too.
@nomad_islamist If you separate the sport from politics is it really an issue? Perhaps that’s what supporters and players feel.
Ironically, calling for players to represent their native land as opposed to their place of residence is a call for nationalism, which I think we all agree is wrong.
I prefer the NBA over any professional soccer league or tournament, but there’s a level of disgust that I’ve just accepted watching American sports—the ads are inevitable breaks, which I use to multitask. Now, to exploit cooling breaks in the WC by inserting ads is on brand lol
@FikrAlJabarti I’m curious, if they deal Fox in the summer, who will be their PG? Castle or Harper? Harper, for the most part had a very easy role on the team, come off the bench and score but in the regular season he was getting high assist numbers with few turnovers. Fox contract means he gtg
@jrichardgoodman Astute observation, Ricky. You might be on the money with this one. Sometimes you need a senior and widely respected player to speak to get the coaching staff’s attention. Ofc if Castle and Wemby were more vocal about it too, this wouldn’t have been a discussion to begin with.
@FikrAlJabarti Spurs have a good problem on their hands, but they’ll have to deal Fox sooner rather than later, or Dylan Harper might force his way out of the team.
