One project the CDC is working on right now is called Children's Mental Health Champions and it's taking place in 11 states right now.
Some the goals? Increasing early intervention, adding in parent training for minority populations. #ADHD2023
The CDC is also partnering with the American Academy of Pediatrics to provide more training for healthcare providers who are working with children. This focuses on understanding the complexity and nuances of ADHD.

One thing the CDC is focusing on right now -- why some states have higher rates of ADHD in children than others.
For example, Louisiana sits at around 14% while Nevada is only at 6%.

When parents are asked about ADHD symptoms in their children, there is data that shows hyperactive symptoms lessen as children age.
On the flip side, inattentive symptoms tend to stay the same as children age.

According to the CDC, about 1 in 3 children with ADHD are diagnosed before they are 6 years-old.
More than HALF are diagnosed by a primary care physician.
