If I transfer ₹1 lakh to my friend through UPI, or I pay ₹3,000 using a QR code, what is the cost of running the system? The cost is the same. So, if I transfer ₹1 lakh to my friend, nobody is making money from it. Bhai Chandra sahab ke ₹22,000 crores maaf nahi karte to India mein UPI agle 20 saal tak free chal jaata by government’s number of ₹8,000 crores subsidy.

Also NPCI - which runs UPI has ₹6,119 hard cash on its balance sheet and pre tax operating profit of ₹1,900 crores. NPCI apne cash pe and profits par zindagi bhar UPI free chala sakti hai. Government ka kuchh lena dena hi nahi hai. Government earned ₹1,000 crores tax from NPCI last year.

सरकार कहती है कि ग्राहक से कोई फ़ीस नहीं ली जाएगी। लेकिन दुकानदार पर लगने वाली फ़ीस आखिर आएगी कहां से? कीमतों में जुड़कर ग्राहक की जेब से।

अमेरिकी payment कंपनियां लंबे समय से भारत की zero-MDR नीति का विरोध करती रही हैं। अब मोदी सरकार ने ठीक उसी दिशा में नीति बदलने का रास्ता खोल दिया है।

Just two hours after asking her question, she was reportedly fired from her job. Then, some BJP leaders allegedly threatened her, saying a bulldozer would be sent to her home.

And now, BJP supporters are abusing her and attacking her character simply because she dared to question the government.

Think about it: her only “mistake” was asking a question to an elected Chief Minister — in a country that claims to be the world’s largest democracy.

It is genuinely heartbreaking to see how far we have come. There was a time when even the Prime Minister regularly faced the press and answered tough questions. Today, simply asking a question can make you a target.

A prayer room at the BRICS venue… FIRs over offering prayers in the same country.

At the BRICS Summit media centre in Bharat Mandapam, a prayer room has been arranged for foreign delegates. Facilities for offering prayers are being described as part of hospitality.

But what happens to citizens of the same country?

Moradabad (September 3–5, 2026): A video of prayers being offered on the route near the Circuit House went viral. An FIR was subsequently registered against SP leader Haji Usman over offering prayers at a government premises.

Bareilly (January 2026): A case was registered against 12 people for offering prayers on the terrace of a private house in Mohammadganj village. Police alleged an attempt to turn the vacant house into a madrasa. The matter reached the High Court.

Bareilly (January 2025): In Jam Samant village, four people were arrested and an FIR was registered against seven people over offering prayers on private property.

For foreign guests, a prayer room is “hospitality,” but for citizens praying on the terrace of their own home, it becomes a matter of “disturbing public peace”?
