I had a good discussion today with DCED’s Deputy Secretary for Housing Kevin Bush. This newly created position will manage PA’s Housing Action Plan. I look forward to working with him in implementing legislative aspects of the plan.
Today, I met with constituent Anne Sillaman, who was in Harrisburg for American Cancer Society Advocacy Day. It is always nice to see constituents in Harrisburg.
This past weekend, I had the honor of speaking at the EMT Academy Alpha graduation ceremony in Monroeville. Hosted by Monroeville Fire Company 6, these individuals went through months of testing and training to become EMTs. Congratulations to all!
This morning, I had the opportunity to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Plum Creek Park. I worked with Sen. Nick Pisciottano and Rep. Joe McAndrew to acquire a $250,000 state grant to help upgrade and renovate the park.
This morning I had the honor to speak at the Monroeville Memorial Day Ceremony. Prior to the ceremony I also participated in the annual Memorial Day Parade. Let us honor those who lost their lives fighting for our great nation 🇺🇸
This morning, I visited the Red Lantern Bike Shop in Turtle Creek, which provides free bicycles to children & adult bikes at low cost. They also operate a discount thrift shop on-site. I appreciated the tour & hearing about how they give back to our communities.
They also assisted in developing a monthly drive-through food pantry, which most recently served nearly 1,000 cars.
I was joined by Monroeville Mayor Dennis Biondo in honoring Dr. Hoffner and Ms. Warning.
At Monday night's Gateway School District school board meeting, I was honored to present state citations to Dr. Jennifer Hoffner & School Board member Val Warning. They helped to create a backpack food program to support children facing food insecurity outside of school hours.
This morning, my office helped constituents at the Commerce Plaza Apartment Complex in Wilmerding complete their property tax rent rebates. My staff and I take great pride in providing quality constituent services.
Had a great time last week participating in @SenPisciottano's annual student government day. It was great to see our local high school students engaged and asking questions about our state government.
