Milton Robinson, a member of my staff in D.C., returned home to serve as Director of the Mississippi American Legion Boys State program. He is pictured here with the twelve delegates who sought election to the prestigious Boys Nation program. As a former Boys State delegate, I remain grateful for the impact the program had on my life and leadership development. It has always been a privilege to visit with these outstanding young men, and I appreciate the American Legion for their support of this important program that continues to cultivate the next generation of Mississippi leaders.
WATCH: @DHSgov Secretary Mullin outlines for @RepMichaelGuest the impacts of Congressional Democrats’ repeated DHS shutdowns:
“When you start trying to recruit the brightest and the best to come work for you, and you say, ‘Oh, by the way, we may be shut down again...and you’re going to go without pay again.’ How are you going to get people to come work for you?”
Kyle Jordan and Charlie Ballou on my staff were honored to tour the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, outside of Chattanooga. This nuclear facility daily produces electricity to power approximately 1.3 million homes that are served by the Tennessee Valley Authority, including homes and businesses in East Mississippi.
Nick Hall and Charlie Ballou on my staff met with President Jesse Smith and his staff at the Jones College Jasper County Center. Nick and Charlie were able to tour their facility and learn more about the Career and Technical Education programs being offered in Jasper County. I am proud to work with Jones College as they prepare Mississippians for rewarding careers in high-paying, high-demand jobs.
“This report further proves the terrifying truth that the Biden-Harris Administration undermined lawful immigration enforcement and used its mass-parole, catch-and-release agenda to further intensify a historic crisis––which we are still working every day to recover from.” - @RepMichaelGuest
A new GAO report exposes exactly why @DHSgov and its components deserve our full support as they work to maintain secure borders.

My staff was honored to tour the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport with the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority team. I am thankful for the opportunity my staff had to meet with airport officials and see firsthand the needs and improvements taking place at our state’s largest airport.
Fun Fact Friday: As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence, I want to highlight some of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
William Paca was born in Maryland in 1740. He graduated from the College of Philadelphia in 1759, and moved to Annapolis, Maryland, to practice law. In 1765, William Paca and Samuel Chase founded the county’s Sons of Liberty and mobilized support against the Stamp Act and in support of independence. William Paca and Samuel Chase led a protest. At the protest, they formed a procession leading to a gallows, where they hung the governor’s proclamation. Paca voted for independence on July 2, 1776, and signed the Declaration of Independence on August 2. Paca also served as a Maryland State Senator as well as Governor of Maryland before his death in 1799.
The Great American Cotton Plan is about one thing: Putting American cotton first again.
Real “_____” wear cotton. 👖🌱
Americans. Cowboys. Farmers. Families. MAHA. Because cotton is real, natural, American-grown, and made by U.S. farmers.
Here’s the plan 👇
✅ Promote natural American-grown fibers over synthetic, plastic-based materials
✅ Expand domestic cotton manufacturing and textile production
✅ Increase export opportunities for U.S. cotton producers
✅ Strengthen support for cotton mills and processors
✅ Protect cotton growers from market volatility and adverse risk
✅ Modernize facilities and expand production capacity
✅ Support long-term profitability for America’s cotton farmers
This is about rebuilding an industry that supports jobs, rural communities, American manufacturing, and our agricultural future.
Plant, not plastic.
Mississippi is the capital of college baseball. Haley and I want to wish all three of our teams good luck this weekend as they begin the Road to Omaha.
Thank you to the Mississippi Automotive Manufacturers Association for stopping by my D.C. office. Mississippi is blessed to be a national leader in automobile production with both Toyota and Nissan calling Mississippi home.
I was honored to join the Mississippi congressional delegation in sending a letter to President Trump supporting Governor Reeves’ request for a major disaster declaration following the devastating tornadoes and severe weather in our state earlier this month.
Jimmie Nichols on my staff was honored to be in Covington County and join Representative Noah Sanford as he spoke on the 2026 state legislative session. We look forward to continuing to work with Representative Sanford and our other state leaders to grow our economy and make Mississippi a great place to live, worship, and raise a family.
My staff attended the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) conference tour alongside others in the Mississippi delegation. TVA is the largest public power provider in the U.S., supplying electricity to over 9 million people across Tennessee, Mississippi, and parts of five other surrounding states. I am thankful for everything TVA does to power our state.
I was honored to take these young Mississippians, whose parents are with the Mississippi Loggers Association, to the House Floor. While on the floor, they met Speaker Mike Johnson and helped me cast votes on behalf of the people of Mississippi. I am always thankful to spend time with Mississippians who visit our nation’s capital each week.
Thank you to Rankin County for giving me an opportunity to be a part of your annual Memorial Day event. Today, communities across our land gather to remember the great debt we owe to the men and women who have laid down their life in defense of this great nation.
In a Memorial Day op-ed, Mississippi Congressman Michael Guest urges Americans to pause and remember the more than 1 million lives lost in defense of the United States since the country was founded.

As we remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, I am honored to lead the resolution in the House of Representatives to recognize Memorial Day and remember those who gave their all so we might live in freedom.
