Repo Prompt by @pvncher - the context engineering tool to help you get the most out of your ai subscriptions.

Repo prompt is now opensource!

Happy to announce that @RepoPrompt Community Edition is now live on @github

Repo Prompt started as a tool for copy pasting, but soon stumbled into a world of context engineering.

Today, it has evolved into an extremely capable multi agent orchestration tool, by inverting traditional harness design to make an mcp server the primary agent, so that underlying cli harnesses can be swapped out.

This version of the app has been designed specially to thrive in the age of opensource driven by coding agents. This means that many of the legacy features you might think of Repo Prompt for have been removed to maximize the potential of its tools for parallel agents.

While this is a Mac native app, the project structure was redesigned to shed the need for xcode, taking heavy inspiration from @steipete’s work.

The repo borrows from @badlogicgames’s example of keeping a list of approved contributors, but adds a twist where all previous customers who opted in are automatically whitelisted.

I really think this repo can serve as a learning baseline for many to build novel agent experiences, without having to maintain complete harnesses, and while its currently Mac only, work is underway to deliver a composable core that can power cross platform apps just as well.

If you want to get involved with development, please join the amazing repo prompt discord community!

@willdepue Hey if you are doing this and want a tool to help. I can’t recommend @RepoPrompt enough. It’s now CE since @pvncher went to OpenAI. It can prep the prompt and context for you in to an easy to grab snippet.

[Dan 🪼 @dah_uk]

@SnazzyLabs @RepoPrompt is a better way to do this. The Commukity Edition is free and open source now

[Justin Bergen @thenighttrader]

@mattpocockuk @RepoPrompt has been my daily driver for over a year. The support for multiple CLIs/models and token efficiency are hard to beat!

I haven't been posting much about @RepoPrompt as I've been going deep integrating into my new role at OpenAI.

I just want to highlight how incredible the community has been, and @fermatcha in particular who has taken the reigns of making huge leaps leaps in perf and stability.

Repo Prompt CE is pretty good

[Bob @TheMonkBob]

@WarrenInTheBuff @RepoPrompt It’s awesome and they just dropped a community edition. Integrates with all the inference providers, runs swarms of agents, does deep analysis and planning.

Great way to implement large things without losing the plot

@antonioc_cl Should make another pr to turn it on by default!

[Antonio Correa @antonioc_cl]

i think its my first OSS PR :) and its for my beloved @RepoPrompt ; i wanted to be able to see when certain chat was used so we added the functionality on the latest version.

[eric provencher @pvncher]

It's really cool seeing codex run for so long with a good plan using orchestration in @RepoPrompt

Being able to step back through the thread history is really nice too. Sub agents are just threads you can open and steer

[Repo Prompt @RepoPrompt]

@jasonzhouu Cool video!

[Repo Prompt @RepoPrompt]

@virgilerietsch @Conor_D_Dart @romainhuet It’s still worth it because the credits kick in when you hit rate limits

OMG! @RepoPrompt just went open source and totally free! No more excuses, seriously. The best time to start using it was a year ago. The second best time to use it is today. #OpenSource

[Repo Prompt @RepoPrompt]

@fjsbarragan @pvncher It is not, sorry

@ai_electrician Amazing!

[Collin Velarde @ai_electrician]

My agent in HQ automatically used @RepoPrompt without me asking. Now we're having a back and forth about it and I think I might be in love. jfc.
