@NaveSirom@DaMidgetZimbo Because the US started taking Women’s soccer seriously much earlier than other countries. It’s literally the inverse of the Men’s side.
The US women are also no longer the best in the world, as the European nations have caught up.
@JohnAppluv@darrenrovell I love how people with no understanding of soccer think that if Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill played soccer growing up, the US would be the best in the world.
That’s just not how it works. Soccer is much less dependent on raw athleticism than Football and Basketball.
@TheeGodric@merkwey COD is popular (albeit nowhere close to what it was), but competitive COD is not.
There is so much cheesy stuff in Public Matches, so like 95% of the game has to be restricted for competitive play. It’s basically two different games.
@gregdot@IHateSoccerPod Some of the best players of all time do not fit this mould at all (Iniesta, Pirlo, Scholes, etc…). Soccer is such a great sport because insane athleticism isn’t a necessary prerequisite.
@henrywinter It’s certainly bigger now than it was in 2008 when I had to beg my parents to purchase some obscure TV package w/ Fox Soccer Channel and Setanta Sports.
The WC was a great opportunity to further grow the game in the states, but corporate greed has got in the way.
@ColtHavok I’m getting team-killed in overload so the other guy can get the cap. Additionally, it makes no sense that you could have players w/ 4500, 4450, 4300, and 4200 score in a blowout win and the guy at the bottom gets 3x less SR than the guy at the top.
@LawrenceMetten
@soccerpaedia Posting a picture of a giant toilet bowl is not doing anything to counter his argument of our stadiums being unaesthetic.
You’re kind of proving his point.
@SeraIity@LawrenceMetten Days to hit Crimson w/ frequent cheaters to bat… What was the team thinking on this one? You’ve literally killed COD for all of the half-decent players who are employed. Just so the hardstuck Platinums won’t feel as bad.
