BREAKING: Judge John Roach Jr. has officially been RECUSED from the Karmelo Anthony case.
Senior Judge Sid Harle granted the defense’s motion to remove Roach from the remaining post-trial proceedings after Anthony’s legal team raised concerns about his ability to remain impartial.

This is a MAJOR victory. Tomorrow, August 20, Karmelo Anthony’s legal team is scheduled to argue its motion for a NEW TRIAL. If that motion is granted, Anthony’s conviction and 35-year sentence could be set aside & the case could return to the trial process.

Daniel Penny snuck up behind an innocent Black man who never touched anyone, and choked him to death while claiming self defense. This happened in New York that has some of the strictest self-defense laws and a duty to retreat. Penny was still acquitted & paraded around like a hero. Karmelo defended himself from a physical assault in Texas-a state with the most expansive Stand Your Ground laws, with NO duty to retreat. And he gets a murder conviction.

The only difference in these cases is the enforcement is governed by systemic white supremacy

The Urban Institute did a study over a decade ago proving how whites engaging in lethal violence is commonly justified, but Black people using lethal self defense against white aggressors is almost NEVER justified.

Karmelo was found guilty of murder jury in TX. There was a reason why they had to manufacture a jury with no Black jurors. They needed a jury that would ignore the law and implement the "I'm-white-and-I-say-so" rule.

Early WRITTEN laws openly stated that Black ppl were forbidden to defend themselves from white attacks. This is still practiced in common law today. Black people are NEVER supposed to be justified in lethal self-defense against a white assailant.
