@Yankeelibrarian If Bernie came up five years later and retired five years later, they’d be called the Fab Five. But he was already well established when the others were coming up, and he d already been on HOF ballots when the others were winding up their careers, so it’s the Core Four.
@B2BSeth@GaryHPhillips Torres should be in there every day. IKF can move to the outfield in a pinch. Volpe has warmed up the last couple of months but he could use a rest every now and then. Judge is playing hurt, no need to run him out there every day. Apart from that, it's all deadwood.
The press release for this bonded #bourbon confused the hell out of me & led me to ask a question I thought I knew the answer to. Turns out I DID know the answer & just misinterpreted the press release. Read about the bourbon in question right here! https://t.co/0Xxp9oMb9L
@subwaysquawkers@cmaguire2008 Agreed. I’ll never stop loving and rooting for the Yankees regardless of front-office competence, but they have to earn my money.
I want to get in a time machine and go back to 1990 and tell my @Yankees-loving, Steinbrenner-hating younger self, “This may sound crazy, but one day you’re gonna be pissed because they don’t fire people quickly enough!”
@YankeesFiles@JAGNY_1987 @ZacheryGoldste4 The Yankees also had the most wins of any MLB team in the '80s — the first decade since the 1910s that they didn't win a World Series. History does not remember that as a wildly successful decade for the franchise.
Hey boozy Twitter (or whatever this thing is called today) - can a #bottledinbond#whiskey contain whiskeys distilled in two or more distilling seasons that were barreled separately and then married prior to bottling?
@DavidWondrich Just clarified — it's two different seasons, bottled separately and labeled in accordance with regulations, but released at the same time. Thought I'd been missing something all these years!
@DavidWondrich I didn’t think so. There’s a B-in-B that seems to come from two different seasons but they must have been bottled separately and released as one batch, not blended.
@B2BSeth It's the incompetence paired with the inaction, and the seeming disregard for what the fans want. The Mets' record is even worse than the Yanks', but I love that Steve Cohen is a fan as well as a deep-pocketed owner, and acts like it. Hal's a bean counter.
@B2BSeth@JonFromMaspeth Big guy, it really is OK to love a team and at the same time intensely dislike the people who own and run the team. We don’t have to support them just because they’re being paid by an organization we root for. They’ve done a bad job and the proof is on the field every night.
@B2BSeth@ThurmonMunson15 Totally agree that we as fans don’t know the half of what goes on behind the scenes. BUT we can certainly glean a whole lot based on intel from the reporters who cover the team. And if you’re inferring we should give Cash/Hal the benefit of the doubt… 60-61 speaks for itself.
