Heza Initiative was pleased to participate in career symposium #HealthX 2026: Explore What’s Next! at The African Leadership University, a dynamic platform that brought together students, health professionals, innovators, and organizations committed to shaping the future of health in Africa.
At our booth, we showcased our work in addressing malnutrition through nutrition education materials, job aids, digital tools, and community-centered resources designed to improve health and nutrition outcomes. We also engaged students and partners in conversations around opportunities in the nutrition sector, youth leadership, and innovation in public health.
The event created valuable connections with future health leaders and encouraged ALU students to step forward and join efforts to build healthier and more resilient communities across Africa.
We appreciate the organizers of HealthX 2026 and all partners who made this impactful engagement possible.

Delayed treatment for domestic injuries is itself a threat, and what could have been treated simply becomes a surgical emergency.
And so shall the community be EDUCATED. #MySHeC
The #Ebola situation in the #DRC is deeply worrisome. So far, 82 cases have been confirmed, with seven confirmed deaths. But we know the epidemic in the DRC is much larger. There are now almost 750 suspected cases and 177 suspected deaths.
The situation in #Uganda is currently stable, with two confirmed cases, and one death reported. There have been no new cases or deaths reported.
An American national who was working in DRC has also been confirmed positive, and transferred to Germany for care. We are aware of the reports today about another American national who is a high-risk contact who has been transferred to the Czech Republic.
These numbers are changing as surveillance efforts and laboratory testing is improving, but violence and insecurity are impeding the response.
Additional @WHO personnel have deployed to Ituri, the epicentre of the DRC outbreak, to support affected communities.
I am in regular contact with the government officials of the affected countries to coordinate response actions.
I have just convened a Member States briefing to update them on the ongoing response.
In line with the Rwandan Ministry of Health, RwandAir is implementing temporary entry measures:
1. Foreign nationals who have been in or transited through the DRC within the last 30 days will not be allowed entry into Rwanda.
2. Rwandan nationals and foreign residents with valid residency may enter Rwanda, but if they have been in the DRC within the last 30 days, they will undergo mandatory quarantine.
These measures protect our passengers and crew. For travel adjustments, contact your travel agent or reservations at [email protected]
We appreciate your cooperation as we prioritize safety.
Commitment to remembrance & learning, UMST community visited Ntarama Genocide Memorial. This sacred site preserves the memory of thousands of lives lost during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi & reminds us of our collective responsibility to reject division, promote unity,
