Pennsylvania passed a law incentivizing private companies to buy publicly-owned water systems.
Now residents are seeing their water bills skyrocket.
One local official put it bluntly during a hearing today: "People should see privatization for what it really is — a scam."
@wreckingballstr 7. Like so many situations the current Council found upon taking the majority in 2019 for the 1st time since 1875, there are changes that need to be made to provide needed services and to provide transparency and accountability. This is high on our list.
@wreckingballstr 4. The County Dept of Human Services and CYS had no oversight role at the JDC and the DHS referred to in the report is the PA DHS. The state oversees juvenile detention facilities. 5. The report covered a period of years under Republican administrations. (Con'd)
@wreckingballstr 3. Wage problems were endemic throughout the County when Dems took over and are being addressed in the current budget so that problem cited by the grand jury was true of al.ost every dept (Con'd)

My name is Cathy Spahr. I'm a democrat and am 27 years sober. I’m running to defeat Craig Williams and flip #PA160 to protect reproductive rights in PA. Can you retweet this and follow me so we can spread the word about my campaign?
@midcountydems Since it is paid for by the HRCC, this guy is not raising his own money. The support isn't for him; it is for the R next to his name. Leanne has earned the support of her constituents regardless of party. She doesn't just represent us in the 161st, she works for us!
Mitch McConnell’s blaming Americans for not wanting to work. It’s absurdly out of touch.
More workers have jobs now than pre-COVID.
Investing in affordable child care would help parents return to work, but Republicans refuse to support actual solutions. https://t.co/5ERIwsZRBy
