This incident was isolated to only bridged DOT on Ethereum. Hence, native DOT on the Polkadot relay chain, parachains, and other assets across Hyperbridge remain completely secure and unaffected.
❕gentle reminder for @Polkadot users transferring DOT
🚫 Do NOT transfer DOT directly from parachains to exchanges 🚫
We’ve had two recent cases involving large DOT amounts. This is clearly stated in the dapps (Hydration and Bifrost, below).
If you’re using a wallet instead, please be careful.

🚨 CRYPTO: POLKADOT OVERHAULS STAKING WITH SLASHING REMOVAL AND 24-HOUR UNBONDING
@Polkadot is introducing major staking reforms targeting sustainability and efficiency. Key changes: 10,000 $DOT minimum self-stake for validators, 10% minimum commission, nominator slashing completely removed, and unbonding slashed from 28 days to just 24-48 hours.
The reforms redirect staking rewards toward validators who run infrastructure rather than spreading them across passive nominators. For nominators, APY drops, but so does risk, with slashing eliminated entirely.
"Staking becomes more sustainable, incentives become more focused, resources are directed where they matter most," Polkadot Devs said. "A stronger foundation for DOT."
1/ We’re building a perpetual protocol around a simple idea: outcomes should come from market direction and position management, not from hard-to-model exchange mechanics.
We’ve shipped a new Explorer.
• Cleaner UI
• More visibility
• New metrics, including Relayers and Protocols (Token & Intent Gateway)

🚨 The Polkadot runtime upgrade to restore bridging through hyperbridge is live and voting 100% Aye.

🚧 Hyperbridge is live on Polkadot Hub testnet.
Builders on @Polkadot Hub can now connect to 14+ blockchains via @hyperbridge using cryptographic proofs rather than multisigs to unlock:
• Secure cross-chain messaging & asset transfers
• Apps tapping into external liquidity (@ethereum, @base, @arbitrum, @Polygon, @BNBCHAIN + more)
• Testing ahead of mainnet, where Sovereign Intents will enable instant swaps across chains
With Solidity support, 2s blocks, and familiar Ethereum tooling, the focus is on preparing production-grade cross-chain apps, not demos.

Now that @Polkadot Hub is live, I keep thinking maybe this is a good moment for the ecosystem to rethink how we talk about growth.
It feels like we’ve been treating BD as one thing for a long time. Mostly: bring in devs, onboard Web2 teams, rinse and repeat. That made sense before. But I’m not sure it’s enough anymore — especially now that Hub is becoming the main entry point for apps.
Maybe it’s time to zoom out a bit and think less in terms of “BD roles” and more in terms of ecosystem growth. Even for @paritytech and @Web3foundation, this could mean reshaping BD into clearer growth-focused roles.
One thing that might help is being more explicit about who we’re growing for. Not just “developers,” but different user groups with very different needs.
At least three buckets come to mind: end users, developers, and institutions.
For Asia, it probably makes sense to lean more into end users and developers — more local meetups, dev events, education, and better distribution for Parity and ecosystem products.
In the US and Europe, growth might look different. Maybe it’s more about institutions — RWA, compliant products, settlement and financial infrastructure. That’s an area where Polkadot actually has a real long-term edge.
Polkadot has always been strong on developer support, and that’s important. I’m just thinking that as the Second Age of Polkadot starts, growth probably needs to expand beyond a single audience.
With Hub live, this feels like a pretty natural time for the ecosystem — and for Parity and W3F — to pause and rethink what growth should look like next. 🤔

Important vMANTA Migration Update
1/ Why this migration?
@MantaNetwork has upgraded its staking mechanism to Ethereum mainnet.
To ensure long-term stability and yield continuity, Bifrost has completed the vMANTA migration.
You can now mint & redeem $vMANTA on @Ethereum and Bifrost with a faster unstaking period reduced from 7 days to 0-3 days, and vMANTA related DeFi transcations will be finalized on L1(Ethereum), way faster than before due to this migration.
