@KrestinaAmon I think since VR is more interactive and realistic than normal video games it might be a more effective way of getting people to really understand the detrimental impacts of their choices.
Learning about VR has been super interesting and can definitely see some great practical applications of this technology in improving health. I thought of a climate change game that would allow players to make choices and see the effects of such choices. #HSBH2009
In our own telehealth simulation task I came across numerous limitations including internet and accessibility issues and not being able to physically examine the patient. #HSBH2009
At the gym on the stair master and realised that eHealth really is everywhere! This machine has the ability to track your HR and provide an estimate of how many calories you have burned. #HSBH2009
I think having robots complete surgeries could reduce room for error, however would have to be carefully programmed to do so. I think a shift focusing on mental health of surgeons would be more appropriate to tackle mistakes that occur as a result of poor mental health #HSBH2009
@_elizatwomey I agree, I think telehealth will stick around but it will be interesting to see whether more people are now going to switch to predominantly telehealth or whether they would prefer to go back to 100% face to face.
Government has just announced no more COVID-19 isolations. Wondering if this will shift the dynamic of healthcare back to in person or if there will still be a range of online options #HSBH2009
A potential disadvantage associated with the increasing prevalence of eHealth is self diagnosis. Although the internet can be beneficial in alleviating specific symptoms, it can be dangerous to self diagnosis and self treat if there is no medical confirmation. #HSBH2009
Another great use of eHealth through the ‘Clue’ period tracking app which allows females to track their bleeding, mood, cravings, pain and so much more. This app also helps those trying to fall pregnant by predicting fertile days. #HSBH2009
@BhavyaCoburn I agree! Definitely is a common problem nowadays with a lot of apps and privacy…I think a lot of people could find this concerning and might not want to use it for this reason. This could be applicable to other eHealth apps as well. #HSBH2009
#HSBH2009 an example of eHealth through Service NSW’s “eHealth record”, allowing individuals to register their own record and control what it contains and who can access it. This gives patients autonomy however could restrict the care they receive. https://t.co/jwDx8RDl06
@BhavyaCoburn Hi Bhavya, this app is a great tool for tracking sleep and I have used it myself. Will be interested in hearing your thoughts about the app! #HSBH2009
