“Standout winners by a country mile” 😂
Are you sure?! 🤔👇🏼
Day one pay in central London:
🔸Newly qualified Doctor:
£20.36 / hour
🔹Newly qualified Physician’s Assistant:
£28.86 / hour
That’s 41.75% higher pay for the assistant to a doctor Vs an actual doctor.
The NHS is in crisis — and the government’s solution is to remove training jobs, likely pushing even more doctors to leave or work overseas.
The government thinks it is acting tough, but it is the patients who will suffer. What a disgrace.
The Health Secretary and now Prime Minister threatening to deprive the public of future specialist doctors.
This government is so unserious. Bring on the 7th of May.
“Making threats about withholding jobs from doctors… I don’t think is a realistic way or a credible way of ending this dispute.”
Resident doctors are set to strike next week in England, after the Government shifted the goal posts during negotiations.
@fletchjack speaks to the Today programme
"More training posts in a matter of days in april"... We know you plan to get those posts from LED posts so therefore you were basically planning to tell trusts to not renew contracts and inadvertently screw more IMGs over.
What in the actual hell?
Resident doctors have been left with no choice but to strike from 7 to 13 April.
Officers were making significant progress towards a viable offer after weeks of negotiations, but then the Government moved the goalposts at the last minute.
We need a fair offer on both jobs and pay.

This is nonsense. Doctors called for negotiations in July after 90% voted for strike action. Months prior they had called for action on pay restoration.
The government refused to budge on pay and dragged it out until the winter.
@wesstreeting Again with the lie that Doctors have had a 28% pay rise
Start treating Doctors with respect, drop the name calling and the fibs, and put an offer to them that values their expertise
They should absolutely vote NO to this pitiful offer
"We've seen an outbreak in the BMA of juvenile delinquency"
Streeting engaging in union bashing
Whos got the best interests of the NHS at heart? Is it the drs who work in it & deliver for patients or a politician who's taken huge amounts of £ from the private healthcare sector?
Sorry, whose pay is what now?!
And this perverse pay disparity is even worse in London;
A day 1 doctor = £19.71 / hr
A day 1 assistant = £28.86 / hr
That’s us all paying 46.4% more to a physician assistant than an actual physician.
Make it make sense…
If you have £100, I take £45 off you, and then give you £25 back, would you call it even?
And how would you respond if I were to go about telling everyone “I gave her £25 already, she’s just being greedy now”, and continuously pretend that the £45 I took never happened?
🤔
I'm sorry @wesstreeting, but we will continue to fight for our members to make sure they have jobs and their pay is restored.
Patients need doctors and doctors need jobs.
