I left Canada when most of the population voted in liberals multiple times. When I got yelled at for getting in an elevator without a mask. When I wasn’t allowed to go buy groceries without a vaccine card. When my neighbors called the police on us for inviting family over. After I got harassed by a homeless man on the subway with my 2 year old and nobody stepped in. After areas in downtown Toronto (where I lived) were taken over by tents and addicts. After I was told there was a 2 year waiting list for an ankle replacement when I couldn’t walk. After I had to find a surgeon out of country. After I’d spent days waiting in emergency for subpar “health care”.

It’s not just the government. It’s the people in Canada too. And no, not all of them, but in Toronto? In Quebec? A lot of them. And it’s getting worse not better.

I miss Canada. I miss old Canada. I miss old Toronto pre-2016. But it wasn’t just the government that wrecked it. It was the entitled, naive people living there that brought it on.

I feel terrible for Canadians (especially Albertans) that can’t pick up and leave but I’m sure as hell not going back until it doesn’t feel like a 3rd world country full of people who hate people like me.

@Anthony20576606 @RockBtmEntries Of imported natural gas– pretty small domestic use overall. USA buys it for arbitrage and to ship it out as LNG. Imported from Canada merely due to geography and abundancy in Alberta. No one is shipping LNG to the USA obviously.

Main issue actually is that USA needs to ensure potash security– Ottawa wants to use Sask's potash as leverage in trade (stupidly), thankfully Sask adamantly and smartly refuses. Regardless, risk is Eastern Canadian liberals hate SK/AB.

I was referring to a low cost potash solution mine not located in the USA, but US DFC funded.

It's on the west coast of Africa– massive potash reserves and expandability if desired. It has a durable competive advantage. Millennial Potash

Merely would help Rus/Belarus. Likewise, USA gov is funding a new potash project (massive reserves) on the coast of Gabon (comp. to Venezuela for Oil)

That is the whole fight.

Ford is out here telling reporters Saskatchewan should weaponize potash and oil like it is a soundbite. “Their agricultural sector would be dead overnight,” he says. Easy words when the mines are not in your backyard and the pink slips will not land in Vaughan.

Moe’s answer was adult:
“Not possible. Why would you put Canadians out of work?”

Because that is what an export tax on oil and potash actually does. The United States already buys most of the potash it uses from us. We supply roughly four-fifths of those imports. Sounds like leverage until you remember America is still about half of what we sell. Cut it off and they shop Russia, Belarus, Israel. We do not find a new buyer overnight. We lose the market, we lose investment, and Saskatchewan workers eat the first punch so Ontario can look tough on TV.

So ask the question nobody in Ottawa wants.

Is Moe the only premier still treating Canadian jobs as the point?

Ford gets the clip. Carney gets the press conference. The people who actually produce the stuff get told their livelihood is a bargaining chip.

That is not standing up for Canada.
That is standing on Canadians.
