Networker, Bird ringer, colour ring reader and data collector/mangler. Good data for good decisions.
Being a follower is not necessarily an endorsement!
@paulsanders87@g__j Plug and charge and a universal app/card like the electroverse one is getting closer to doing this. It's great rocking up to a charger, plugging in and not having to do anything.
@g__j Can you get my electricity bill down by crediting me my £400 of export since November please?
Anyway, zonal pricing great however a missed chance by not going for it.
What octopus have done like no one else is made energy interesting rather than a just another bill.
... After a bit of thought and checking I wasn't being silly it became clear it was an adult Lesser Yellowlegs which is still around today. I think that's the first rarity I've found.
On Monday evening I had a trip to @RSPBLeightonM to look for colour rings on waders. It wasn't terribly successful however this Redshank is one from the Solent and has a previous history at Leighton. While trying to get this one sorted I noticed the bird behind was very odd...
Mike's a great speaker about climate and changes needed to achieve a sustainable world. If you're in the great city of Bradford then there are many worse ways to spend a couple of hours.
Looking forward to talking about A Climate of Truth in Bradford tomorrow (Sat 28th). There are still seats left.

(Anything I put on X is also on Bluesky, which has not yet been used to corrupt democragy for the personal gain of a billioraire own)
If there is one individual bird that highlights how important colour ringing and reading is it's this Redshank at @RSPBLeightonM this morning. I see it every spring. I also see it every September in Lincolnshire where it moults.
@ProfRayWills This still feels wrong. Very roughly 5K cars, 20K miles per year, 20 years, 40mpg average, 30 gallons of petrol/diesel mix per barrel of crude works out at 1.67 million barrels of crude oil. Or just under 1 VLCC full.
Nov weekend success! Our team managed over 290 resightings of over 130 individual Curlews, Turnstone and Bar-tailed Godwits. This included birds marked by WWRG in the #WashNNR and by projects elsewhere. Fantastically, this included 17 headstarted Curlews (yellow-leg flags)!
