Based on the input of @CLARIAH_NL fellow researchers @Thunnisvanoort@TimRiswick@smuurling we released an much leaner version of https://t.co/C4QXG7M1vF to transpose CSV files into RDF. Updates include:
Important point by Angelique Janssens: "It's a pity that there is no civil data for Amsterdam, the main city of the Netherlands." The rest of the country has indexed their archives from 1811 until well into the 20th century @TimRiswick @IngridvanDij @rlzijdeman@IISG_Amsterdam
Through exploration of various cause-specific mortality rates, @timriswick, @smuurling & Buzasi demonstrate that Jewish neighbourhoods had a general mortality advantage in mid-19th-century Amsterdam. Only during the cholera epidemic this wasn't the case. https://t.co/ZwtTtapPZi
Russia was already in a deep systematic demographic crisis, deepened by c19; the war sharpens it, and the unfolding economic catastrophe is bound to have it's massive toll too
A thorough overview piece by @federicacocco and @polinaivanovva in @FT.

This is the (individual-level) income gradient for civil status, for the Swedish 1920 cohort at age 50.
Very strong negative gradient for women (very different today), due to few married women working at all.
Very strong positive gradient for men (pretty much the same today).
It is out! Our first EPIBEL publication! The very first overview of the Spanish flu in Belgium: it only took 100 years to produce 😉https://t.co/LIv5nI4RMm
As a way of looking back at 2021 and looking forward to 2022, I reread @SE_Mamelund & @jesdimka https://t.co/qSpbBT4Jif . Pandemics suck, but worse for those who have less, and inequality hurts us all. Crises can only be mitigated if we prepare everyone in society.
