Protecting our coasts & natural resources is an all-hands-on-deck mission. TXOGA President @Todd_Staples delivered the keynote address at the 2026 Gulf Response Alliance.
Thank you to the emergency responders, industry leaders, wildlife experts & government officials across the region for joining us in Austin today to support this important initiative.
IT IS BECOMING F*CKING DANGEROUS
A coding agent just improved itself from 20% to 50% on SWE-bench by rewriting its own tools. Not a better model. The code around the model
Darwin Gödel Machine (Sakana AI + UBC). The loop is simple:
> Agent proposes an edit to its own tools and workflow
> Benchmark evaluates the candidate
> Archive keeps the useful branches so the search can jump back
Some weaker versions became ancestors of stronger ones. The gain came from better file-viewing, patch validation, and ranking multiple solutions - the exact things developers normally hardcode by hand
The Chinese labs are already running 300-agent swarms with verification layers. This is the next step: the swarm stops needing a human to redesign the tools every week. The agent starts doing that part itself
20% → 50% in one controlled experiment. The archive is what made the jump possible. Without it, the search only modifies the current winner and gets stuck
The model did not get smarter. The system around it rewrote itself until the tools stopped being the bottleneck

WTF, HOW IS THIS EVEN REAL? GROK BOT CAN HUNT FOR YOUR NEXT JOB WHILE YOU’RE ASLEEP.
YOUR LAPTOP IS CLOSED, YOUR JOB SEARCH IS STILL RUNNING.
Imagine waking up to a list of relevant roles, a CV tailored to each one, and messages drafted for the people who could help you get an interview.
Here’s a three-bot setup that does the prep for you.
Connect Gmail, Google Sheets and LinkedIn. Give the bots your experience, preferences and the kind of role you actually want.
Then split the work:
→ SCOUT: searches your emails and job boards for roles that fit your profile. Adds the matches to your job tracker so you have one place to review them.
→ TAYLOR: picks up each new role and tailors your CV to the job description using your real experience. Saves a separate version in a folder named after the company.
→ ENVOY: finds recruiters, hiring managers and potential teammates on LinkedIn. Drafts a personalized message for each person and puts it in your tracker for approval.
One finds the opportunity. One prepares your application. One helps you start the right conversation.
And you can manage it by voice:
“Scout, which jobs should I prioritize today?”
The bots run on a cloud computer, so the work can continue after you close your laptop.
You still choose where to apply, review your CVs and approve the messages. But you can start your morning with options ready to assess instead of another empty spreadsheet.
Looking for a job can feel like a second job. Having the repetitive prep handled gives you more time for the conversations and interviews that matter.
I covered more Grok Bot updates and ways to use them in my article below.
