Our annual survey is in! Many of our community members found that not only is the Alex CFC an important source of nourishing food, but it was also a place where they felt a sense of community, support and connection.

Glad to join Disability Without Poverty's Better the Benefit kickoff!
Great to connect with @AccessAlliance & @APlaceForFood to advocate for #DisabilityWithPossibility, and a properly funded Canada Disability Benefit to ensure food security for those living with disabilities.
It's great to see MPs calling on the Finance Minister to fund the #CDB in this budget. CFCC supports this - people with disabilities cannot afford to wait.

#CanadaDisabilityBenefit
As you know, I firmly believe in the importance of the Canada #Disability Benefit.
I advocated for it in the beginning and I want you to know that I haven’t stopped. I won’t stop until it’s a reality.

Our team members live in many different places. Staff writer and editor Tom lives in St. John's, Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland). He sometimes walks along Mundy Pond to get some fresh air and visit the local wildlife, and he also enjoys visiting surrounding areas like Portugal Cove.

📺TUNE IN: Our senior policy advisor will appear on @BNNBloomberg, @CP24, & @CTVNews tonight to talk about rising food costs and the need for government action. In 2022, 1 in 5 people experienced food insecurity and this number is expected to grow with the rising cost of living.
@foodfirstNL@C4HSchoolFood@foodbankscanada@proofcanada 2/2: This new plan has several strong points, including its approach to child poverty + increasing income support. But there's a lot more work ahead to make lasting progress on poverty + food insecurity.
