Worked at a bar with Mike for years. Every weekend we’d bitch about how we need to find new jobs while we mopped a stranger’s puke together. He used to say don’t forget me if you ever miraculously make it to Barstool and I’d say “It’s already hard enough trying to remember you now, Mark” as I prematurely flinched from his punch. No matter how dreadful the job was I was always excited to get to hang with Mike
I know he’s up there right now laughing at the fact that I’m currently tweeting a Barstool link in loving memory of him all these years later. Touché king. Rest in Peace brother, you’ll always be remembered

“I’m proud of you, not just today, but every day.”
Fernando Mendoza’s mom, Elsa, always believed in her son. Now, he’s a national champion. https://t.co/aDKpXpJ4TO

A horrific story out of Delaware. State Trooper Corporal Grade One Matthew T. Snook murdered in the line of duty. He leaves behind a wife and 1 year old daughter. I can’t think of a more important cause this Xmas than raising money for the family. As always 100% of proceeds will go directly to them and I will match 100%. I know money doesn’t lesson the pain in these situations but I did have the opportunity recently to sit with 3 widows from prior donation drives we’ve done. All of them said despite the tragedy they can’t put into words how much our support meant to them. We’re asking for help 1 more time

I hate the Brewers more than I’ve ever hated any professional sports team in my life…probably to a point where it’s unhealthy. But whatever. On to 2026.
We appreciate @aldermanscott24's wisdom here.
During debate over the snap curfew yesterday, Ms. Scott explained she has forbidden her college-bound daughter from travelling downtown.
Why?
Well, Ms. Scott is exercising impeccable parental instinct: The 24th Ward alderman understands downtown isn't safe and her daughter would be at risk.
Scott would prefer her daughter visit Oakbrook Center rather than downtown.
This says a great deal about how Scott views the conditions on Chicago's streets.
Ms. Scott is also to be commended for clearly articulating how the "snap curfew" doesn't confer on CPD the authority to randomly administer drubbings on teens.
Instead, Ms. Scott recognizes the snap curfew is an instrument CPD can harness to avert teen takeovers, which are known to become violent.
Ms. Scott understands CPD with the authority to call a snap curfew to force kids to disperse means fewer or no arrests.
Well done, Ms. Scott.
