@hines_gabby I had a similar point about Native Americans! Hopefully textbooks in classroom start to share the real stories to young students to educate them on the harsh reality of our history.
This is an example of invisibility because Native Americans were largely invisible. The government tried to force Native Americans out and onto reservations and pressured them all to assimilate into the culture of the U.S and that emphasizes their invisibility #spring015#educ300
@CramptonHalle This point is so important! I didn’t even think about writing shame on the graffiti board but it probably is one of the most important words.
@sarahtraceymus I completely agree! This point is so imporant to recognize because your normal and another person's could mean very different things, which could make all the difference.
"I was in survival mode." This quote opened my eyes to the fact that these people were on their own at such a young age and had to fight so hard to have the same opportunities as their peers. #leininterruptpoverty#EDUC300
@DanielleDellaP1 I agree with your point about being too quick to judge. I feel like a lot of times people judge people by their appearance or based on other people's opinions rather than building an opinion of your own.
Today, I listened to some very powerful stories told by 4 students all apart of the Centennial Scholars Program. A quote that stuck with me was that “it’s okay to accept help”. #leininterruptpoverty#EDUC300
This photo showcases Social Reconstructionism because it includes trips into the community and using guest speakers. In this example, the students are visiting a fire house and listening to a firefighter explain to them his job. #EDUC300#Spring015
@Nicoleamodio1 Great article! Not only does this article highlight psychological safety, it also dependability. I think it is important that coworkers can depend on each other so they feel like it is a safe place to share their ideas.
@MichalaP300 Very insightful article! I liked how it talked about dependability but it also showcases Impact, another google norm. It also relates to impact because it shows how dependable people's work can make a positive impact on the organization.
This article talks about how psychological safety, which is a google norm, is helpful when employees feel safe to speak up by creating an environment that encourages people to talk. Improved performance can result. #EDUC300#Spring015
