As a 61 year old, lifelong Minnesota sports fan, this seems really different. Obviously different than previous Wolves years, but also different than the best years of the Twins, Vikings, North Stars/Wild. They aren’t just winning, they are dominating. And changing the game.

In the last 38 days, the Denver Nuggets have lost 3 games at home. And all 3 were to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

3 weeks into the playoffs, and the defending champs are down 0-2 in a series. Only 7.3% of teams in this position have come back to win. That is a scary reality Denver faces.

But there may be an even scarier reality for the rest of the league.

The Timberwolves have won 6 straight playoff games. If they win the next one, which is on their home court, things can get crazy.

The last team to win their first 7 playoff games ended up winning the championship. That team played together 7 years ago. Their names?

The Wolves are breaking what we know about basketball. They are the first team to find a blueprint for stopping the best player in the World.

One big stays with Nikola Jokic, and another stays in the paint. With the length and toughness surrounding that, it works.

And on the other end...

At 22 years old, in just his 3rd playoff run, Anthony Edwards has transformed what was an average offense in the regular season, to the #1 offense in the playoffs.

Seriously, the best defense all year now has an offensive rating of 123. No other playoff team even cracks 120.

Karl-Anthony Towns has bought in. Rudy Gobert is clearly not a liability anymore. And Naz Reid is f*cking Naz Reid.

The defending champs are failing to stop them. The team that won the most games against the defending champs last year, got swept trying to stop them.

If the Nuggets don't figure it out soon, the same thing can happen to them.

And if they can't do anything... what can anyone do? 🤔
